Great news, Mr. Rooster. I wish you well in this endeavor. Meanwhile, here are some elephant riding tips.
When approaching the elephant, speak softly to the elephant in low tones. This will calm the elephant and build a bond of trust between you. Always mount the elephant from the left side. To turn the elephant, do not pull his ears. This tends to aggrevate the elephant and you don't want to sit astride an aggrevated elephant. If, while riding the elephant, the elephant attempts to roll, say prayers. Do not attempt to make the elephant gallop. This may result in riding the elephant to North Dakota. FAX |

They smell bad.....
Is this the Mac county fair? Ahh memories... I won a stick horse race there when I was about 5.... my old man fashioned a stick horse out of a piece of fence post and stapled a coke cup on the end for the head... I kicked ass....

I would suggest wearing long pants, preferably jeans, due to the bristly hair that covers elephants.
The last time I rode an elephant, my legs got scratched up.

Is it an Asian or African or whatever other kinds of elephants are out there? I believe the African has bigger ears. Either way, it sounds like fun. Will you be riding solo?

I rode an elephant once in Nepal. It's not a comfortable ride.

A carnival used to come to the little Iowa town where I grew up every July 4th. One year the brought an elephant to ride. They would back 10 to 12 of us kids on the back off the elephant and then it would take a couple laps of an approximately 20 ft diameter circle. That was it.
The back is, indeed, hairy. The beast is, indeed, smelly. What I remember most clearly about that particular elephant was the size of the turd it cast off for a 10 ft. drop. It was the size of a bowling ball.
