Is it common for teams to trade up to draft a QB, sit him for a year, and then trade him away?

Is it common for teams to trade a top 5 pick for an unproven QB when their OL is so shitty that a QB with the combined DNA of Joe Montana, Dan Marino, John Elway, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Brett Favre would suck balls behind it?

Sure. They'll be trading Derek Anderson if anyone, though.

Quinn is so overrated it's sad. He padded his stats at ND against inferior competition and coasted on a delusional fanbase. The guy wasn't good enough to get drafted by the Dolphins(!) or give Charlie Frye or Derek Anderson a run for their money.
So there's a 99.9% chance we'll do the ****ing stupid thing and trade for him. |

Oh, and Crennel is about as stupid as Herm. He was asked why he didn't let Quinn play more sunday, he said he didn't wanna create a QB controversy. |

I would, If it wasn't for Edwards and Winslow's dropped passes on his first drive he would have had a impressive drive.. He has nice touch on his passes. Very polished,

Well if the price was right doesn't include our 1st, yes.
We'd be stupid not to consider looking at QBs. If Croyle pans out, great! We'd then have two QBs. But not looking for one is risky. Quinn isn't worth a top 5 pick so it'd have to be something less. But yes if the price was right. I'd rather have Anderson though.... But he will cost too much. |

"If the price was right"? Sure. I'd want a bargain though. I'm with the camp that thinks we need to address the offensive line before worrying about a final decision about QB.
