Where does eveyone stand on smoking bans?

We used to have a great Cigar lounge here called EL Gaucho, They had a special room where you had your own hemidor if you wanted..

The smoking ban here completely ended that..

Ok, that is stupid. If the business is predicated on smoking, you should be able to smoke in there.

I wonder how that will affect the cigar shops here? Did they get an exclusion?

Cigar bars are still allowed here. and you can also smoke in Atlantic City for some unknown reason.


That's silly, why would anybody who didn't like cigar smoke go in there anyway?

It's a real simple answer, Smoking and Non-Smoking bars. I'm a casual smoker, smoke when I drink person. But I understand when you enter a bar smoking is part of the package as well as beligerant drunks. But simply post a sign out front "This is a Smoking Establishment." The "freedom loving", beer drinking, chicken finger, and pizza eaters can eat at their Sports Bars and the wine drinking, quiche, eating crowd can eat at their Sports Bistros.

No, we can't do that. You see, that would be reasonable. Reason is not allowed. Reason is bad for you! Because, there is a chance, however remote, that no matter where your bar is, Laz might one day wander in for a beer, catch a whiff of cigarette smoke, and instantly die.

Unfortunately this kind of logic doesn't seem to exist. The anti smoking Nazi's wish to impose their will on everyone regardless.

I just hope that when the anti smoking Nazi's get their wish that they step up to the plate and volunteer to take on the property tax increases due lost revenue from tobacco. It's only fair.
