More "Bruno" News - this is awesome!

Ali G and Borat have had their own movies, now comedian Sacha Baron Cohen has been hard at work shooting the film version of his third most famous character creation - Bruno.

The project is now entitled "Brüno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt".

As expected it follows the flamboyant Austrian TV reporter and his interviewing of a range of people from conservative power brokers to celebrities of fashion and entertainment to trick them into making politically incorrect statements, or try to provoke reactions of prejudice if they display signs of homophobia.

Filming has caused all sorts of confusion and trouble. The Bad and The Ugly reports that security was put on red alert when Bruno started “stripping down to tight shorts and dancing in the lobby of Wichita Airport." A nearby church also reported that a strange European camera crew showed up to their Easter play with the on air personality in chains.

Most exciting though comes word from The Howard Stern Show via Slashfilm that Ben Affleck was telling comedian Sarah Silverman about the weirdest sit-down interview he has ever had that was done by a “very famous openly gay fashion journalist” and during which he was asked such questions as “How Do You Like N**g**s?”

Apparently after a stunned silence, Silverman asked Affleck “Was this guy’s name Bruno?” Then and only then did Affleck actually realize that the whole thing was a gag. The hope is that the interview will be featured in the final cut which will hit cinemas in October.


So it IS true. Ben Affleck is an idiot.

In the interest of accuracy, word came from Mike Walker of the Enquirer by way of Howard et al playing The Gossip Game, ie 4 stories told by Walker, and the Howard team tries to guess which one was fake. Walker reported this as non-fake.

I miss Howard. I don't have time anymore to listen (I listened for 10 years straight) and it sucks that the E! Network doesn't broadcast those 30 minute clips of the daily show anymore either.

They are better than ever. Some days, they are the best entertainment outlet anywhere, from TV to Movies to Sports, though they don't outrank teh sechs.

One of the best in recent memory was a series of unfortunate events for Artie Lang, though the humor of it is helped by knowing the players, so I hope you do.

It started on a day where Artie was to tape The Letterman Show in the afternoon. On the show, they had some Penthouse Pets in to pimp some expo or something. As is the usual, Howard turned the conversation to getting the girls to party with Artie after the show. He was touting his pending Letterman appearance, all the glamor, etc. Throughout the bit, Artie was full of nervous energy and was popping Subutex [sp] like it was going out of style. Kept saying 'this is TOO MUCH fun for me right now.'

Vinnie Favalli of CBS [ie, on Letterman's staff] a long time listener, heard the exchange and called in offering to set the girls up in the green room during the taping, and make arrangements for dinner and a hotel room for them, to let things 'play out.' Artie's nervous energy accelerated unabated.

Cut to the Limo on the way to the show, girls in tow, and Artie gets a call on his cell. It should be revealed at this point that Artie was [unbeknownst to anyone else on the show] in the beginning stages of reconciling with his long-suffering ex-GF Dana, a Jersey schoolteacher who stuck with him through his heroin addiction and recovery. One the phone was Dana who promptly said 'I just wanna help Vinnie out with this, I've got Nobu at 8 and a suite at the Dorchester.' Turns out that Dana was teaching and didn't get to hear the on-ari convo, but Vinnie had made the arrangements like he said he was going to, but sent the itenerary to DANA's e-mail instead of Artie's assistant Teddy.

Talk about suffering for your art. . .
