Use only the best. Get a prescription and go with Allegra D. I didn't get my first allergy until I was 40 yrs old. My doc got me on to A-D, and it's worked like magic. I tried everything else,. and nothing works like this stuff.

good luck

God don't you just hate it when those stupid herbs work and there is no side effects. Garlic Factors is the best off of Iherb and hella cheap too. Also good for your blood and blood pressure.

If you can manage it a few swims in the oceans will do the trick. I find the ocean to have healing powers.

If you routinely have allergy issues... start ingesting LOCAL raw honey, daily. Since you are in KC, get some Coopers Raw Wildflower honey. **** the Zrtec and Claritin and the other Big Pharm shit... local honey builds up your immunity naturally, as it is made from the local pollen that is currently irritating you.

Different antihistamines work for different people. None of them work for everybody. Besides, you have to take them for several days (3-5) in order for them to reach therapeutic levels. Benadryl is more effective but does cause drowsiness, but it doesn't bother me much. You can definitely take it at night.

Oral desensitization (taking local honey) can't hurt, but it doesn't have much real scientific evidence to back it up. Also, for it to work, you'd have to take it consistently for years.

The eye drops that have any benefit (like Optivar) are prescription only.

The best thing you can do is wash your face, hands, and shower etc. more than usual - especially before bed so you're not coated in allergens all night. Try to avoid cutting the grass (or whatever the pollen is that bothers you most).

The good news is allergic rhinitis isn't gonna kill you! The bad news is allergies don't go away when they affect you as an adult. Children often "outgrow" their allergies due to changes in the balance of their immune systems as they mature. Adult onset allergies are there for life, or at least until your immune system declines with old age. Yay. Depending on how much this bothers you, prepare for this period next year by going to the doctor a month ahead next year and get some advice.

For this year take some benadryl when you can tolerate it, and wash hands, face and clothes whenever you think they might be allergenic. Good luck!

A couple of injections to my eyelid and eye socket worked for me, other than the writhing agony side effect.

I've heard that honey is a good anti-septic. I think they should try using it on antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria.

Cheapest possible solution: Generic brand Zyrtec arguably the best OTC allergy med

Best possible solution: Get an injection of Kennelog from your doctor. works wonders for me for about 3-4 months. I get one every spring/summer. Combine this with taking zyrtec and the additive effect is great.

I have contacts and my allergies really killed me. The eye drops are okay but do not work with contacts so i would not use them a whole lot.
