Anyone know the reason why pitchers years ago could throw so many pitches, innings, and games while pitchers today are probably more injury prone even though they are used less. It has always bothered me.

Ive always wondered this myself. Even back in Quisenberrys and Rollie Fingers day, it wasnt unusual to see a closer work 2 sometimes 3 innings. Everything has become so specialized these days.

pinch hit cock high fastball. clutch. i can't look at it anymore. Jesus that is why people have to be careful at the beginning of the year. I don't think buddy bell was better but man can the trey hillman shit stop. Maybe we can just throw another picture of him looking like a royal who sucks the penis dancing around to the marlins cheerleaders. I predicted 96 looses I didn't think it was going to be like this. I thought it was going to because the tigers were going to beat us up. Oh well it's one game. I wonder what the stats say about throwing a guy in there to go hey hit a 3 run homerun to a ball park that isn't easy to hit one out and he getting it. Christ almighty. My 20 year I haven't seen such a snakebitten, but also stupid, and talentless bunch of guys. I think we had 16 hits and most of them were singles. What it would be nice to have some power. Twins always come in here and play tough. Thats what most team do it seems worse with the twins because they are twins tough. On a side note what the **** is up with delmon young. If i am in twins fan I am losing my mind because he is anti twins player. Oh well it's just another lose, for a shitty franchise, shitty stuff, with an old ball park that could have been downtown. Now that is next to another bullshit franchise who decided to make a nice arrowhead look like a lopsided womans vagina. Oh well out with one trash into another trash games.

My theory is that we easily forget or were never told of young pitchers who broke down and became nobodies way back then. Now with the gigantic sports media, every promising young prospect is tracked hourly down to the 35th man in the minors, and somebody breaking down is big news.

It's only Wed. but I wonder how the Indians must feel, knowing they are already have a three-game road sweep of this weekend's series "in the bag".

A loss like this is a loss that will send a young team like the Royals imto a deep tailspin. Trey should have done everything to ensure the Royals won tonight.

Because Trey did not, this losing streak will approach 20-25 games IMO.

Because Trey did not, the hitters will begin press even more at the the plate.

Because Trey did not, Luke will feel a greater need to pitch perfectly IMO.

I know this is still May, but ocasionally circumstances surrounding the game dictate the team should pull out any stops necessary to win the game. Tonight's game, having a big lead, trying to snap a long losing streak was one of those games. Losing the way they did probably set the franchise back at least a couple of years and makes the prospect of losing 100+ games in 5 out of seven years a real possibility.

Does Glass even give a sh*t???? I mean seriously?? I freakin hate absentee owners.

At least the Steinbrenners of the world care if the team is winning or not.

Some of this sky hit me in the ****ing face while I was reading this.

Seriously, though, I hear your pain. This one hurt, and it makes it seem like they'll never win again, but it would take some kind of talent to lose another 10-15 in a row.

That is true as well. Media has played a big part. I do think pitchers pitched through alot more pain in the past than they do today. Salary has alot to do with it as well. It is just wierd that guys could pitch a complete game pretty much every time while also starting 40 plus games.

i tend to disagree. What stops are you supposed to make? Risk your boy soria who maybe the most important piece of the royals future? Naw have faith that peralta or hernadez can get it done. Then if they don't admit you made a mistake not as a manager, or a coach, but as a person with jesus and your soul will be banished to hell with hitler, stalin and albie lopez

I've been watching games for a little while. I wasnt baseball-aware in the 80's, but I've stuck loyally through the 90's and recent 100 loss seasons.

I'm still trying to decide if I should be worried that tonight's loss made me upset for maybe about 14 minutes. I think I'm numb at this point, no expectations whatsoever, except that I'd kind of appreciate it if the team isnt completely blown out early and could still win in the 9th 8 times out of 10.
