TRANSFORMERS

I just got home from an 8pm first showing of this movie. I took my 10 and 5 year old kids and they loved it! I must say, I wish the movie was out when I was a youngster. But late its better than never! Great flick Lotsa explosions, but the violence was mostly metal exploding or being shot up. Stronly recomended for those of you still stuck in your childhood like me.

Unfortunately i was out voted 2-1 and saw Ratatouille.

I can't recommend the film, kind of ho-hum, nothing special. Most of the movie i spent thinking that the Transformers was in the next theater.

saw transformers last night. i expected it to be all explosions and car chases. let down is something i'm not. holy crap, great frickin movie. the plot is pretty simple. unsuspecting juvenile finds out he's got something the bad guys want, good guy shows up to save him, must get rid of what bad guys want. the humor and excitment, and the joy of seeing three story robots duke it out made up for the canned plot. this movie is incredible, and i can't wait to see it again.

here's to transformers two.

She's got his name tatoo'd right above her cooch.

Let's see here -

Young? Check.
Hot assed hot? Check.
Up and comer in Hollywood? Check.
Hooked up with a has been/borderline never was? Check.
Chances she'll dump his ass in the near future? Very good.
Chances she'll have to get Turlington's Lower Back Tattoo Remover (and hope it works in the front)? 99.9%

Not a major nitpick, but a major irritation, mainly because I can't resolve it, it just doesn't make any sense.

If you're making a chick a 'grease monkey' why show us an engine with a Weber 8-pack and HEI ignition then have her comment on the sweet 'high rise double pumper' and surmise that the problem was a 'loose distributor.'

It's just BEYOND lazy, it's like taking extra effort to be totally wrong after all the effort of putting together an engine that you could make plenty of cool observations about.

"OK, I want production to give me a rocking engine that the girl is going to show her mad skillz by diagnosing, but I'm a writer, not a DAMN mechanic, so don't tell me anything about what you produce, I'll just write some buzzwords and nobody'll notice how up my own ass I am.'

You know, I noticed that too but didn't really think anything about it.
Now that you mention it though, that is pretty ghey.

You just answered your own question. Plus, the majority of "regular joes" watching the flick wouldnt know the difference anyways.

I would've never caught that. I don't know crap about that stuff. But I understand the hate. I typically get that angry during football movies, or historical movies, which are typically chock full of anachronisms.

It's not so much that they got it wrong, but that it'd probably entail LESS work to get it right than flinging random shit.

Either ask the prop guys to get them an engine with a 'high rise double pumper' and a distributor cap, or ask the prop guys 'what's the deal with this engine. Or they could pick an observation/diagnosis that wasn't so incongrous with what's on screen.

It's like establishing that someone's an art expert by identifying the Mona Lisa as a Matisse watercolor.

Bumblebee Engine

High Rise, Double Pumper

Also, for a distributor to be loose, there'd have to be one of these;

In the center back of the engine, with wires coming out of it.
