I bought the PS3 because I wanted to game, and I usually preferred Computer gaming, but to seriously computer game building a computer to do what I want would have been way out of my budget, but Now I have a computer that Plays Games better than most computers for Less than what most suckas payed. I did install linux, and I use it as my main PC, but of the PS3's 40gb hdd I only gave linux 10gb of it... Sony designed the GameOS to do this, you just choose format 10GB for Other OS... then put your Linux Disc in and install... So simple. When I want to Play PS3 I just choose from Linux.. "Boot GameOS" and it reboots back as a PS3 back and forth I go All day long |

I am kind of surprised that Sony allows users to do this and not void the warranty as well as access to the online stuff.

Sony in partnership with IBM and Toshiba wanted to keep the system open to Open Source developers and programmers so they could have access to program for the CELL processor - they released the PS3 SDK for this reason... the only thing Linux does not have access to (At the Moment) is Access to the RSX Video Engine. Here is some good reading for you: http://www-128.ibm.com/developerwork...pa-linuxps3-1/ |

My biggest problem will be the PS3 controller if I start to get any games. I have always preferred the Xbox controller with the analog stick in the primary position.

I thought i was going to be the same way when i got my ps3, but in reality it didnt bother me at all. Once you get used of the half an ounce the damn thing weighs, then you will be fine. People say the controller craps your hand becuase its to close, i dunno, it doesnt bother me one bit. I tell ya what though, they have a cool ass bowling game from the PS store that i bought. I had alot of fun with it as you can use the controller to swing like a bowling ball. hah

If you have a HDTV, they come out looking like complete shit. I got hosed on getting Twisted Metal. It looks horrrible all blocky. It just looks like when your got a youtube video full screen. Looks like shit.
