I like Herm and I'm not afraid to say it

yes that's right! I like the youth movement and think Herm has drafted well. Hard to see it yet but I think he has. My knocks on Herm is this, he could have done better with the O-line and finding a second WR to line up with Bowe. This season will probably be painful but I think he's on track to build a winner.

I would give him two more years.

He's a fugging funny interview and energetic as hell ta boot.

I know this thread is worthless.

Milkman comes closest to expressing my opinion of Herm, except he shows him too much respect.

As a person, I have to say I admire him greatly.

He gets up before anyone and runs daily. He's dutifully hardworking and he's a bright guy.

He's probably one of the hardest working people in the game, and he loves the game of football.

I don't care for his game management skills, but I do like his philosophy on building a young, resurgent team. He's a player's coach.

My only hope is, he'll not only learn to manage the game, but someday excel at it. If he doesn't, it will be his eventual downfall. You can be a great player's coach, and the hardest working individual in the game, but if you can't beat the coach on the other side of the field, you're not going to win very many games.

And that is what I believe he needs to work on the most. I do wish him well because he represents the Chiefs right now If not, I won't hold it against him as a person, but rather a poor coach.

I like Herm, I liked the hire, I like what he's doing.

If the o-line improves and Brody turns out decent he's going to look a lot better than he has. Last year we would have sucked with Lombardi as our coach.

I like Herms character. I think he is a funny guy.

I really think he would do well if he has the players. The Chiefs have too many sucky players at key positions.

I really think he needs an offensive line. And a defensive line. Draft those and he be ok.

His style demands good lines on both sides of the ball. He is into that power running, short pass type of offense. That's fine, but he needs a line to do that.

His cover 2 schemes are going to demand good passrushers on the line. Im not so sure the Chiefs have a quality passrusher now that they traded JA? Hali needs to step up and has some big shoes to fill. Im hoping Dorsey can be a monster.

I like the idea of youth movement to the team. And I think his teams have a bit of a swagger to them that we didn't see from Vermeil's team. I also think his team is a bit physical.

He needs better coaches around him imo. I didn't like the playcalling last year on both offense and defense. I think they were both plain, boring, and too predictable. That has to change. Gotta keep teams guessing and throw them off. Being predictable is never a good thing.

This team lacked execution. But I think execution comes with having good players. Chiefs don't have enough good players! Thats the problem.

I also think he needs to do a better job of game planning.

He claimed he didn't even know what was wrong with his foot for several weeks. When finally confronted about why he continued to lie about the injury for weeks to the fans and the media, he claimed "it was the best thing for the organization".

That pissed me off and lost major credibility.

Aside from that, I think he is probably a good personel man, but probably not head coach material.
Teams in general aren't going to give the media a complete injury report.
Consider yourself lucky to be able to get a report at all from Herm. Coaches like Bellicek and Shanahan won't tell the media anything unless someone has been decapitated in practice.

Looking at who was available during Herm's hire, I was really glad we got him. I think it took too long to clean up the roster. I've never used Herm as the scapegoat for the losses ... just as it takes more than a coach to win a game, it takes more than a coach to lose a game. I'm glad Herm is our coach and I think we'll see a lot of wins coming our way (perhaps after this season ...)

I have to admit I like Serm, as a person and a coach.

I like his philosophy and the way he seems to be unafraid to build through the draft despite it risking his job...

I like him as a defensive coach and think that is truly the way u build a team of championship calibre.. I also think that providing he has the weapons, QB and perhaps most importantly the line, he’s fine being relatively offensive.

I agree that his game day tactics are a bit lacking... Yet he seems to be surrounding himself with knowledgeable co-ordinators and I think that is the key to his success in KC.. Oh and despite Dick Curl...

Vermeils downfall was always his stubborn loyalty.

If that makes sense.
that makes sense......He can assemble the players. He can't coach on game day. Teams led by Herm are not going to go far in playoffs.
Personally I have had enough of the clown and am eager to see him depart.
