What I don't understand is he said he had the same knee pain last season. He had his knee scoped 5 months ago to clean out cartilage. I would think the doctors would have also looked around while in there to check for any other damage.

The Chargers have no interest in resigning him so I doubt they care what happens to him.

Why wouldn't SD say no to his stupidity. Why aren't the company docs saying that he isn't medically clear to play. I am surprised that SD would take that liability on.

He gets hurt further....say for life. I smell lawsuit.

Lawyer: Is it true Mr. Turner that you allowed him to play in this condition? Isn't it you Mr. Turner that decides who does and doesn't play?

He likely found a doctor that cleared him which means the Chargers have no responsibility.

Not sure what lawsuit they would get if it is Merriman and his doctors saying he can play..

I hope his knee holds up week 2 against the Donks. People whine enough about Denver's perfectly legal cut blocks...even though EVERY team does it. It'll be that much more absurd if Merriman gets lazy with his technique and has his knee exploded by an expertly executed cut block.

Honestly I do not know why it has not been banned.. If horsecollar tackling is banned for a few injuries then cut blocks need to be banned also.. Keep the pussification going to the offensive side also..

I guess if anyone knows how much Merriman can handle it should be Merriman.

I hope the best for him but in the NFL I don't think most players can play at a 100% without a 100% healthy body. A broken finger or a something alike can be compensated for.

Torn PCL and LCL on the same knee? Dude must be on steroi......... Oh wait
