No.

At that point it was only year 5 or 6 of the Carl regime. People didnt truly start getting bitter towards Carl until around 97 or 98.

I actually would have been bitching about Carl trading for Montana as well.

I was pissed when Carl hired Marty to begin with , and pissed again when he traded for Montana.

I still believe it was a stupid ****ing idea.

Yea, i remember you saying you were against the Montana trade. I can understand that. but you know as well as i, it was a "Final piece to the puzzle" move. It nearly worked.

You were always against the Marty hire?? Wow...

He was a "Hot" coaching prospect at the time because of his Cleveland success.

Nobody knew at that time he would be a playoff failure for so many years. He was a great hire for KC, because he knows how to resurrect dying programs. A more demanding GM probably would have fired him after 1995.

I didn't like Marty because of "The Drive".

He showed me right there with his conservative approach to defending in that situation that he played it safe, and I was pisssed at him then.

Though I admit that at the time of his hire I did hold out hope that he had learned form that experience, though only a small hope.

Oh, as to Montana being the "Final piece", why exactly did we need that final piece at that time?

We had just elevated to competitor status, and a younger QB would have been there for the full length of the window we were just opening.

Final piece of the puzzle? I guess the best response to that would be we haven't won a playoff game since he left. He won two of the three playoff games under Marty.

Perhaps it was worded badly. He won two of the three playoffs games by Marty during his tenure.

To me, these statements are stupid. Joe was Joe. He had the rings, so he had more room have an off day. Are you comparing the Croyle bashing to what you think would have been Joe bashing? That is a disgusting compliment to Croyle that he does not deserve.

And in 1994, it was not too far to look back to the 4 win seasons, so Marty also would have had more room to falter.

Marty did not take aver a team that had a number 1 offense and turn it into a joke. Marty did not take over a 10-6 team that got jobbed out of the play-offs, then back into the play-offs at 9-7 and proceed to embarrass a proud franchise with the most inept display of coaching seen in KC since Frank Gansz. That was Herm, and he deserves all the criticism that he is getting.

Chiefs fans will always be upset with poor performance, rebuilding or not, but you seem to think that if a fan is unhappy with being the laughingstock of the league it makes him/her an idiot or not a real Chiefs fan.

Chiefs fans bash. It's what they do. They bashed Trent Green. Even when it was clear he was a good quarterback. Hell, I was sitting next to a bar in 2003 when we were in San Diego. Trent threw an interception in the end zone. The guy next to me said "Dammit, I just don't know about that guy." I was flabbergasted. We went on to win the game.

I think you're reading too much into my comments. All I'm saying is I know this forum. People here love to bitch, win or lose. They always have and they always will.

You know what will stop Chiefs fans from bitching? Winning a few games in the ****ing playoffs, and maybe even *gasp* making the Super Bowl. Winning will cure ALL this shit.

No. Even when we win the AFC Championship game someday, there will be fans on this forum yelling "WE'LL BLOW IN THE NINTH!"

Then when we win the Super Bowl someone will say, "So, another 40 years?" or "IT'S A GOOD THING WE WON THIS ONE BECAUSE THIS TEAM IS DONE!"
