Or maybe it was a easy choice considering that a Grade A corner is > than a grade A RB? Especially in a system that continues to make runners look better than they appear.

Are you familiar with the circumstances that led to Shanny getting rid of Portis? They involve embarassing acts such as wearing a title belt on the sidelines and Portis trying to strong-arm Shanny into giving him a new contract.
Shanny is coach lord and master and Portis found out who stays and who goes real quick.
