If the Chiefs do end up with the # 1 pick..

I hope they take Rey Maualuga, Middle Linebacker, USC.

The Chiefs defense has a lot of young talented players but they do not have an emotional leader on the field.

currently listed as 6'2" 250+ lbs

bad teaching/coaching
bad positional coaching ie footwork technigue

We will have a new regime after next season, and any newly drafted QB will barely play his first season, so why does it matter?

If we trade our 1 for, say a 8 and a 28 (hypothetical) I could accept Maualuga and McCoy with those picks. Besides McCoy is listed taller and heavier than what he looks like.on TV. McCoy is not my first choice of QBs anyway. That would be Bradford, who probably won't declare.

I would like that too. Is Spikes any relation to Takeo?

I'm willing to take that risk.

Right now, Stafford, please. Or a kicker. Either or.
Judging by how Stafford has performed this year it's equally as nutz to use an overall 1st on him as on Maualuga.

I want the Stafford pick please!!! As for the Herm and Carl concern.....You have to go all in. This is one of the positions that takes the longest to develop and gives you the longest lasting rewards. Chances are he'll still be developing by time Herm and are shown the door. Then we hopefully pickup a legitimate QB coach to help Stafford out. This is the most important position we need to address this next offseason IMO since our offense has to be built around the guy.

I'm inclined to think it's the latter.

Well I'm not going as far as wishing him to die. But I agree he is way overrated.

I know Payton Manning. I have watched Peyton Manning. Peyton Manning is a good friend of mine. And Stafford, sir, is no Peyton Manning.

I wish the Lions wouldn't have fired Millen. All we would have had to do was lose out and find out which QB he liked. Then convince his ass to give us their #1 and the Cowboys #1 for the drafting rights.

This is way off, IMO. Other posters have given some reasons for Stafford's play this season, so I won't repeat. Nevertheless, Stafford is top talent. Combined with this, you have to consider the value of his position.

Bottom line, many on here won't want the Chiefs to draft ANY QB. It could be mutated version of Elway and Montana and some would be saying, "Yeah but..." "Let's fix the O-line first!" or "We need defense!"

If there's a player worthy of a high first-round grade, KC must take the risk and draft a QB.
