What the HELL is Clark waiting on?

Okay the league is just moving on without us, what the hell are we waiting on? Cant we just ****ing unload Herms ass now?

Teams are unloading the trash, looking at EVERYONE we have been talking about for months, are we going to sit around in Typical Chiefs fashion and let all the up and coming prospects get snatched up?

I really dont want to go shopping on the used retread lot and come away with guys like Marty, Cowher or some other has been...

This is our chance, the first chance we have had in 20 years to actually build a championship team. It would be nice if we are actually pro-active and not passive about something this serious....

What's the disadvantage? Who gives a crap? Any GM worth anything is going to make that decision anyway. As long as the GM is promised control over the coaching staff... and Clark has clearly stated that will be the case, none of this matters.

You are just complaining about something you can complain about, that is all you are doing. Because nothing else is going to be put in motion anyway until we hire a GM. No other coach is coming here until they know who's calling the shots. Unless we're stupid about it.

Hopefully our new GM/Head coach will come from a PLAYOFF team. IF that's the case there is nothing we/Clark can do until whichever team is done. May as well let Herm and his boys finish up all the end of the year paperwork.

We often cut guys earlier in camp than other teams to give them a shot at landing on another team. Holding on to Herm may keep him from finding another HC job for next season.

That would sure save another fanbase the misery of watching their franchise crumble into ruins...

Maybe the Chiefs are waiting for someone to offer a draft pick for Herm?

Just a thought...

There is none, the only reason he's still employed is because Clark obviously doesn't have the sack to fire him himself.

assuming the list of potential gms is correct, i don't have a problem with Clark taking some time

my concern is Herm

imo, Clark hasn't fired Herm because he is genuinely inclined to keep him...that is depressing...

we just have to pray the new GM is not swayed by Clark's sentimentality...

this staff has to go

and as a practical matter, how can you keep a lame duck coach?

don't you have to fire or extend him? i don't want a lame duck coach picking at #3 or directing our "rebuild"....

In all honestly, do you REALLY think it's going to be an issue?

Polian is the ONLY guy that MIGHT be willing to keep Herm - and even then, it's a stretch. The guy has made it perfectly clear that he wants to continue his father's legacy in Indy - he's not going to accept a job here and then have a lame duck coach forced on him.

People are bitching that Herm hasn't been fired yet, when it makes no difference whatsoever. A new HC won't be named until we hire a GM - period.

Now, if we were rushing out and interviewing every has-been that is currently available, then I'd be worried.

How do you know Clark is sitting around doing nothing? For all we know he has been on the phone since the season ended.

Just because we haven't heard anything it doesn't mean nothing is being done.
