Have you seen the AFC this year? An 8-8 team just advanced to the 2nd round. Hell an 8-8 team could have a home game in the AFC championship. That 8-8 team wouldn't have made the playoffs in the NFC.

I'd rather watch the mediocre team that isn't in my division. But I was really arguing that both conferences are shit this year, you can't call the AFC superior when the Chargers are in the playoffs.

They would have had a better record had they not played in such a tough division. Obviously, battling the gauntlet that is the AFC West has toughened them.
