I had the ambitious goal of watching BSG season 1 through 4.0, 56 episodes + Miniseries and Razor in 13 days time.
Well its been about 11 days since then and I am through the first 7 episodes of Season 2.0. I just finished Home pt.1 and pt. 2 last night, while I was tripping off those Brownies, and holy shit, I was freaking me out so bad! Those were awesome episodes though. I wont be caught up through 4.0 in 2 days, but I think by the time Episode 4 or so comes around i should be completely caught up and I can get in on this conversation! |

Can't wait for the last 10 episodes of BSG!
Quote:
Inara: "...every well-bred petty crook knows that the small concealable weapons always go to the far left of the place setting." Wash: Little River gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing, it's always a hoot and we don't all die from it. Simon: I can't keep track of her when she's not incorporeally possessing a spaceship — don't look at me. Zoe: Preacher, don't the Bible have some pretty specific things to say about killing? Book: Quite specific. It is, however, somewhat fuzzier on the subject of kneecaps. [Shepherd Book prepares a meal as he absentmindedly addresses River.] Book: What are we up to, sweetheart? River: Fixing your Bible. Book: I, um… What? [Pan over to River, who works on a book with pens, brushes, and loose pages.] River: Bible's broken. Contradictions, false logistics… doesn't make sense. Book: No, no. You - you can't... River: So we'll integrate non-progressional evolution theory with God's creation of Eden. Eleven inherent metaphoric parallels already there. Eleven. Important number. Prime number. One goes into the house of eleven eleven times, but always comes out one. Noah's ark is a problem. Book: Really? River: We'll have to call it "early quantum state phenomenon". Only way to fit 5,000 species of mammals on the same boat. . . . And IMNSHO, the best quote from Firefly/Serenity: Tracey:"When you can't run, you crawl. And when you can't crawl, when you can't do that…" Zoe: "…you find someone to carry you."

Can't wait for the premiere tonight, although I am saddened that it will soon be over.
Off topic: I commented to a coworker earlier how odd it was that 666 had repeatedly popped up in a bunch of paperwork today, now I'm making post number 666 in this thread. Must be related to the Law of 5s, or the 23/17 phenomenon. |

Finished watching 4.0 last night, and it struck me how hot and cold it was. Some of the early episodes were okay, but once the demetrius found what it was looking for, it really took off. And as is always the case, the finale episode was good stuff.
I've avoided spoilers, so I don't know details, but apparently tonight's episode is amazing. |

kind of a werid move for sci fi
SciFi Channel sent out screeners of tonight's Battlestar Galactica premiere to critics, minus the episode's most important scene. Needless to say, reviewers were not pleased. Has anti-spoiler mania gone too far? When reviewers received their screener DVDs of tonight's episode, they also got a note from SciFi Channel explaining "with all due respect" that a "sensitive reveal" had been excised from our review copies. We were asked to review the episode without seeing the entire finished product. While it's normal for studios to send out early screener copies that lack special effects or some sound editing, sending out an incomplete version of an episode to stop spoilers is extremely rare. Obviously the message was that SciFi couldn't trust reviewers to keep secrets to themselves. Or they were worried the excised scene was so lame that they didn't want to risk bad reviews. Either way, the official story was that this weird move was merely a pragmatic precaution. Reps explained that removing the "sensitive" scene was an extra precautionary measure to protect the content in the event that this package should become lost or unintentionally delivered to and viewed by someone other than the intended. |

My guess is yes. And apparently a shitload of stuff (I don't know what...) happens in the first 15 minutes, even without the spoiler they removed.
I like it, honestly. Too many screeners end up going up as torrents. I know part of the reason I've avoided spoilers like the plague was due to
Spoiler!
I can't imagine how much impact the season 1 finale would have had if I'd known before viewing what the final scene was going to be... |

There's a pretty funny video on the season 4.0 dvds where they refuse to spoil 4.5, too. Wonder if it's on youtube.

Like third eye, I'm eagerly awaiting tonight and the rest, but I'll be sorry to see it end.
Also, the Razor-esque movie being directed by Olmos will come out a little while after the series ends (June 2009 is the rumor). It's very cylon-centric, and called Battlestar Galactica: The Plan. Looks like it's going to revisit the mini and early episodes from the Cylon perspective.
