***Official BORDER WAR Smack Thread***

Now that we got ISU out of the way, Mizzou fans can finally focus on hosting our hated rivals to the west.

I know it's early, but it's been years since us Mizzou fans can actually look forward to this game, let alone basketball at this point in the season.

We're about 48 hours away......

KU is going to lose this game. I am a huge KU fan but they are losing because they are inexperienced, not because MU is that good.

Really? Almost always? KU is 5-2 over the past 7 games at Columbia, including 2 straight.

Don't get your panties in a bunch. I hate to further propagate the arrogant KU fan stereotype, but I really do think that for MU, it is their Super Bowl.

Now it is just fine to talk about Big Monday. Border War Monday. Kansas at Missouri. Inside a packed and loud-as-can-be Mizzou Arena.

“Oh my God!” Lyons said in anticipation. “People thought they saw something when Baylor was there. This means more than the national championship to us.

Heh, not that they would know anything about a national championship.

I like that fact that 4 of the top 5 teams in the conference are from the North.

That was kind of my original point. MU being good + the history of KU-MU games in Columbia = MU win.

I'm still hung over from Friday night, so I am probably not making clear points
DEAD WRONG. You couldnt be any wronger. Mizzou has been blowing teams out in Mizzou Arena all year long. They won by:

21 over Prairie View A&M
28 over Chattanooga
28 over Fairfield
54 over Arkansas Pine Bluff
27 over Cal
34 over Stetson
50 over SIU-Edwardsville
28 over Centenary
33 over Coppin St.
45 over Colorado
31 over Iowa State
17 over Baylor

And 2 out of their 4 losses have been blowouts, we lost by 16 to both Illinois and K-State.

Its either a blowout loss or win it seems like for Mizzou.

Mizzou is a psycho team this year. I've seen them in person three times. You never know what you're gonna get.

People have been saying stop Carroll and you stop Mizzou. Not true. They're more balanced in scoring than maybe ever before. Also, Leo Lyons has been much better, and they are generally bigger, more athletic, better on defense, and have some outside shooting.

But being a Mizzou fan means having your heart ripped out over and over and over.

So I'm hopeful, but not expecting anything.

For some odd reason I think Matt Lawrence is going to be Mizzou's X-factor come Monday. Hopefully his shot is not on.

I think the Morris twins and Mario Little will be our X-factor.

I know some of you Mizzou fans have felt dirty in this thread - but I feel even dirtier predicting a Mizzou win.

Looking forward to the game tommorow night. For the first time in a long time, I think my Tigers actually match up well with the Hawks. Both games this year could be great.

I'm predicting the second Border War Victory in 3 months.

But I'm sure it will be a very good, closely contested game. And I'm purty scared of MU's basketball team this year. They're a solid squad.
