Jerry Jones: We don't need no stinkin' defensive coordinator

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9...140813162ATT=5

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Cowboys owner Jerry Jones insists he hasn't decided whether Terrell Owens will return and that coach Wade Phillips will be his own defensive coordinator in 2009.

Jones also said Tuesday he wasn't surprised an agreement couldn't be reached with Dan Reeves. The former Cowboys player who coached Denver and Atlanta to the Super Bowl was set to join the team as a consultant before the deal fell through at the last minute.

Repeated questions over the status of Owens angered Jones. Speculation about the receiver's future has swirled since the Cowboys' season imploded with a blowout loss at Philadelphia that kept Dallas out of the playoffs.

Defensive coordinator Brian Stewart was fired a few weeks later, and Jones said Tuesday he decided not to hire a replacement.

I would love to still trade spots with their franchise despite their mistakes.. Superbowls that people were still alive to remember.. What has been great about our franchise the last 15years?? When was our last playoff victory??

It is great to have pride in your team for doing things correctly for the most part.. But I would rather have championships..

Yeah I mean I would hate to have won 3 SB's in 4 years. God that would suck. I would also hate for my owner to sign top tier FA's, that would also suck.

"Not one time with any head coach in 20 years does anyone have an authority to hire a football player, fire a football player, draft a football player, hire a coach, an assistant coach," Jerry said. "In 20 years, not one coach has ever had it. I've always had it. I want to make that clear."

Jimmy Johnson proved he was the masterbrain behind that not Jones.
