Sources close to Ray Lewis tell Adam Schefter that Lewis "will not return" to Baltimore and that his career with the team is over.

This could be a negotiating ploy or emotions getting the best of Lewis. Don't assume he's gone. The Ravens offered Lewis $17 million guaranteed Thursday, a very good offer, but he's upset with how negotiations have gone. We highly doubt he'll get a better deal elsewhere. Broncos emerge as candidate for LewisRay Lewis | Ravens | Interested: Broncos? Cowboys? Jets?
While the Baltimore Ravens have feverishly tried to retain linebacker Ray Lewis over the last few weeks, his name has been linked in various sources to both the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys. Amid the smoldering chaos as the league has finally entered the opening day of free agency, a darkhorse candidate out west has emerged according to the Baltimore Sun: the Denver Broncos.
Lewis and nascent Broncos defensive coordinator Mike Nolan worked together when Nolan had the same position with the Ravens, and according to the Sun, the two would meet one-on-one on a weekly basis to work on game-plans. In addition, the Broncos have been cutting dead weight since the promotion of general manager Brian Xanders, and the team is expected to be around $30 million under the salary cap. Lewis would be a solid tackling machine in the middle of the field as well as a vocal leader as the team installs Nolan's schemes.

Comapred to Ray Lewis it's not even in the same league. Either way it doesn't matter. Bill is no longer in the league.

One thing that worries me about all the vets in KC wanting out is how that affects FA's from signing here. At what point does a shit load of money sway you to come no matter what you are hearing from the media.

There might just be a chance, the "Patriot's Way" seemed to involve signing old, future hall of fame linebackers. Keith Brooking is available now too along with Derrick Brooks, we could have an All-2002 linebacking group!!!!!

In all honesty while Ray Lewis certainly wouldn't be a bad signing, I'd rather spend the cash on someone who isn't 33 like a Channing Crowder.

Also, I think we should take a look at Darryl Blackstock. The guy was a heck of a player on the outside in the 3-4 at Virginia. He hasn't done much in the league but he's young and still has some potential. I think he'd be a great guy that the Chiefs could get on the cheap.
