Chiefs trade 34th pick for Cassel and Vrabel

Chiefs just got Cassel, ON NFLN!

http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/2009/02...with_patriots/

Quote:
The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Saturday that the club has acquired QB Matt Cassel and LB Mike Vrabel from New England in exchange for the Chiefs second-round pick (34th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft. The agreement is contingent on both players reporting and passing their physicals.

“I have a long history with both players,” said Kansas City Chiefs General Manager Scott Pioli. “Mike and Matt are men that I respect both personally and professionally. I look forward to having them as new members of the Chiefs family.”

we are also helping the pats with their salary cap situation, that is part of the reason for the discount.

Cassell and Vrabel for a second round pick?

I'll believe it when I see it.

No one should be upset about this trade.

Pollard and Mcbride were 2nd rounders. Puts it all in perspective when you look at it like that.

For some perspective, Matt Schaub went for 2 2nds and a swap of firsts. And he had only played in something like 3 games at that point.

We just raped the Pats.

Oh **** me.

I wake up and log on to find out it's DV all over again: HC I don't want trading for a QB I don't want.

THANKS FOR TRADING YET ANOTHER DRAFT PICK FOR YET ANOTHER BACKUP QB!

It's the kind of $#it that makes me want to run out and punch chimps in the d!ckberries...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Cassell can start on the playbook today instead of waiting for our draft pick to start in May. What number was he at USC. 16 is retired.
