Spread offense is not about what formation is used.

It's about PHILOSOPHY. It's about throwing a lot of short passes because your quarterback CAN'T HIT THE BROADSIDE OF A BARN PAST 15 YARDS.

Just because you are in the shotgun or have multiple receivers DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE RUNNING THE SPREAD OFFENSE.

It's not a matter of them working.

It's a matter of what wins championships.

The spread offense will never win a championship in the NFL. It's limited. It doesn't challenge defenses enough. Superior talent skull****s it.

The formation MAY BE SPREAD OUT...that does NOT mean you running "THE" spread offense.

Vermeil's offense frequently spread the field out. Did you ever hear ANYONE refer to the Vermeil offense as "THE SPREAD?"
