Cassel or Sanchez?

I realize that we are where we are, but the more I see about Sanchez, the more I'm afraid that a few years down the road, we may look back and realize that we passed up on the franchise guy that we've been looking for. I know that Cassel played ok last year, but is he a franchise guy? ...likely not. Thoughts?

Smoke another one, bud.

Nothing you said applies to what I said.

I dont care if he can rush the passer. I'd still take him. What part of that dont you get? I simply said you dont know he cant do it, and that translates into me claiming he's good at it. you're just looking for an arguement, and putting words in my mouth.

Inside, outside, middle, I dont give a shit. I take Curry at #3 because he's the best player at a position of need.

Find another cause buddy. You're pissing in the wind.

If he's gone, then maybe I look at a DE. Otherwise I pick Curry reguardless. I cant be any clearer than that.

Let's hear your perfect player @3 and I'll show you how to effectively pick them apart. Since you're obviously interested in a pissing contest. Give us your "better player than Curry" that warrants the 3rd pick in the draft.
The 250 lb reference is in response to your claim that Curry has the size and stature that OLBs never had, therefore making it more likely that he'll be a successful pass rusher. And I'm telling you that hundreds of 250+ LBs have entered drafts the past 10 years, and yet 0 of the 8 teams that run 3-4 defenses have drafted a LB to play OLB. You keep acting like it's some small fact that 100% of 3-4 OLBs played DE in college. So if you claim that Curry has a strong likelihood of succeeding as a 3-4 OLB in spite of the fact that NFL teams almost never use OLBs to play 3-4 OLB, then you're the one who's smoking something.

And if you're suggesting that Curry should be taken at #3 as an ILB, then that means you have no understanding of positional value. ILBs in a 3-4 are role players. They are not guys you spend your top 5 pick on. Why do you think Kendrell Bell was a stud in Pittsburgh but a dud in KC?

Aaron Curry is only a top 5 pick if he's going to play in a 4-3 defense. As a 3-4 OLB, he is extremely raw and 8 NFL teams say that 4-3 OLBs don't make good 3-4 OLBs. On the inside, you are wasting his versatility by putting him into a role situation. From a positional value standpoint, the only LB worth taking in a top 5 is an OLB that can rush the passer CONSISTENTLY. And players like Everett Brown and Robert Ayers and Aaron Maybin have spent their entire college career rushing the passer. They are not better players than Curry, but in a 3-4, they will make a far greater impact and as pass rushers (which is the primary role of a 3-4 OLB), they are far better than Curry is.

And of course, from a pure impact standpoint, BJ Raji carries far more value than Curry. The nose tackle is the most important player on the field.

You are making the suggestion that the Chiefs force Curry into a role that goes against his strengths. And you're the one pissing in the wind, not me. Feel free to post a poll on the Planet and see how many people think Aaron Curry will be a successful 3-4 OLB.

Raji, huh? You take a pot head #3 over all? He's not even that great a NT. Just the highest rated one in this draft. One with a drug problem.

But by your postings it's obvious your a pothead too. Otherwise, you would have understood some of my posts, and not repeat yourself over and over. You're still doing it, even though I pointed it out to you.

See....that didn't take long.

Lets look at all QB's taken in the top ten since 1990, that's far enough back. There were 26 QB's taken in the top ten since 1990, of those 14 were what I would consider busts, again, I'm not even counting JaMarcus Russell, although I think in a few years I could. I think this is a large enough sample set to give a good idea that drafting a QB high, is around a 50-50 proposition.

You need to focus more on being a man than worrying about me. I treat people who act like men like men. I treat those that act like a thief, like a thief. It has nothing to do with being an asshole. It has everything to do with not being fake. A person in thier last days doesn't want to die settling. I stand on my own principals and dont settle for relationships based on need.

I look around at my life and see a son that I can be proud of that I raised. One with integrity. Friends that I have inspired to be better men. A wife that is the best woman I have ever known, that inspires me to be a better man. You know, people that have earned my respect. Trying to build a bridge to a mound of shit like yourself would only devalue my life and what I stand for.

That doesn't make me an ass. An ass lives off his mom for the rest of his life. Taking money from posters in bets when he wins, and not paying up when he loses. An asshole thinks he has arrived by his persona on a football message board instead of getting his life together. No one takes you serioiusly here.

The difference is my life and accomplishments dont revolve around Chiefsplanet. I live a life where I have been a major player in family, friends, and business.

Dont pity me. Pity your mother.

I said this long ago and it still holds true if you draft Curry 3 you are putting Derrick Johnson on your bench and telling him "You're done here"

Also anyone that thinks Colt McCoy is a great NFL prospect needs their head examined.

Thanks ol' buddy.

BTW, I was this way toward you long before I even knew I was terminal. You know this.

Leave it to a man of weak moral fiber to use it as a tool to save his perceived reputaion on a football message board.

Nothing that has been stated in this thread has anything to do with my health. Yet of those who know, you and only you use it when you're being challenged. Like a weapon to attempt to salvage said reputaion. Heh heh

And you call me an asshole.

Seriously if you wanna argue for Curry go ahead just be realistic about it. Say you think he'll be Pat Willis as an inside backer or something, don't give me this pass rusher crap.

Put that in your prayer for me, could ya?

You see, this is exacly what I meant. Why be nice to someone with your moral standing. See how cheaply you sell your self respect. It would only make me a fake. I instead look you in the eye and tell you what I think of you.

Then you look me in the chest and prove me right.
