People act like Trent Green was robbed of a few SB rings because the defense was so shitty. He was a slightly above average QB who put up numbers, but when things were on the line, often threw the big INT or came up short. And this is coming from one of the biggest TG fans on the planet - I've played against him in HS, and spoken to him on several occasions, and you won't meet a greater guy. A similar argument is made for Thigpen. You know how it goes, "all he needs is A, B, C, D, E, F and G for him to succeed." "It's not his fault." The great one's don't need excuses made for them, they go out and put a team on their shoulders and make it happen. Like I said before, the QB is the most important position on the field, and the responsibility they carry is like no other. They get all the glory when the team wins, and take the heat when the team loses. Just the way it is. Winning > individual statistics. |
