Say that I feel more comfortable w/ a black minister, what is my best approach to coincide w/ his church?

What is the problem? Just go. I've gone and nobody really gives at rats what color you are. And puh-leeze, don't listen to old man Skip. You don't have to ask "permission" from the Pastor. I would think that would be more offensive, as if you are saying they are a different religion or something because they are black Just go.

The church I attend has an affiliation with an inner city church that, from what I gather, is mostly black. I've never been to theirs but sometimes some of their members come down to ours on a Sunday. People normally go out of their way to be friendly to them and thank them for coming. I'm pretty sure the reaction would be the same if you went to their church.

I'm not sure that I am, yet. I like this black preacher here in town. I was simply getting the masses opinion, I may transition. Not sure.
