:( Some Chargers News I Just Learned

Good news and Bad news

The Good: The Chargers are bringing in Jon Runyan to fill their empty RT position. Hopefully he passes a physical.

The Bad: According to Kevin Acee (Chargers Beat Writer), the Chargers are about to sign Norv Turner to a very long extension, possibly until 2014.

I found this all on a Chargers forum I frequent.

I can't really fault that move; I thought/think Rivers will prove the better QB in the long run. But there's no question that Brees has been ridiculous in NO, beyond anything he ever did with SD. I never thought he'd be as good as he has been.

Rivers could have been traded again pretty easily for another 1st round pick IMO.
Uh...no....Marty didn't hate the idea of trading for Rivers.

Marty was excited about the acquisition of Rivers, and told the morning guys (Scott something and Billy Ray Smith) on the mighty 690 (or whatever it was at the time) that he didn't think Brees was going to be able to come back from his injury the following year.

Drew Brees also told those guys that the staff there had just about given up on him but he was working his ass off to prove them wrong.

If Rivers hadn't come into camp late his rookie season, he was going to be the starter.

AJ Smith = Overrated.

Dude has been decent in the draft, but I think that has a lot to do with luck.
What do you think the Bolts would look like with Drew Brees, and the Burner Turner?

Not to mention an actual HC.

Not to mention, Brees was drafted in the 2nd round. And we all know the old saying here at CP, YOU WILL NEVER WIN A fuckING THING WITH A NON 1ST ROUND QB.

So you're calling him over rated after he drafted/had a hand in: The Burner, Rivers, Jackson, Brees, Merriman, Cormartie, LT, ect.

Runyan will run for Congress in New Jersey's 3rd district in 2010. "I look forward to a successful end to my career on the field," he said, "and a spirited campaign against Congressman (John) Adler." Runyan will run as a Republican.

Reading comprehesion issues much?

No one has ever said you can't win a ****ing thing with a non first round QB.

What has been said is that your best chance of finding a franchise QB is in the first round pick.

the fact that Runyan is already so decided about his life after football does not bode well for his performance.

if it was any other position but Oline it would be a complete disaster
