Obviously, getting guys like Maclin, Coffman, Richardson, and Gabbert are great in-state pickups. The 2008 (Gabbert) class is the one Pinkel needs to try and replicate. The last two have been pretty shaky, IMO.

Case in point: you should not be losing in-town recruits to Nebraska and Oklahoma (Rome and Millard).

It's going to happen a couple of times a year. No program lands every single recruit. Until we take the next step, Oklahoma's going to be able to grab a player here and there. For the most part, he's slammed the door on Nebraska.

I'll take him getting Maclin and Gabbert back from Oklahoma and Nebraska over losing Rome and Millard every day of the week.

Once again Saul proves he doesn't know much about college football.

Sorry I shoudn't say you don't know much about college football that was a bit harsh but saying Mizzou closed the door on Nebraska recruiting in Missouri, how so? I'm not trying to come across as Nebraska is superior blah blah but look at some of the recruits. Will Compton was from Missouri, Tyler Gabbert, Brandon Kinnie, ect. Saying Rome sucks reminds me of when Gabbert left Nebraska for Mizzou all the Husker fans said how Gabbert sucked anyway, thats just sour grapes.

I never said that Rome sucked. It's my understanding that Mizzou didn't want Tyler Gabbert. To be honest, I bet he might de-commit if Mizzou pressed the issue, especially now that Blaine Dalton is off the team. Nebraska is still going to get players from the state of Missouri, but Pinkel has been getting first dibs.

You could make an argument that he has been calling dibs on some of the wrong guys (Dalton over Schelhaase [sp.]), but snagging Maclin and Gabbert really set the tone.

There were rumors that the Pinkel showed up at a helicopter or something to Tyler Gabberts game, who knows if its true but Rivals says he was recruited by Cornell Green whoever that is. You can always second guess should a coach have recruited this guy instead of this guy but Pinkel must not be doing that bad since Missouri has improved.

Millard wants to play H-back (MO doesn't have a full or H-back in their offense) and Rome just isn't that good (IMO). Losing Grey and White a few years ago was much worse, IMO.
