For what it's worth, I play soccer games weekly on FieldTurf and I don't see what the problem is. The surface actually feels softer/squishier than most grass fields. In fact, I think it is too squish. I feel like I'm running on sand. Also, it still gives you rugburn, unlike grass. There is no substitute for nice grass, but keeping that up in the winter (especially when it's wet and with multiple events) has to be a bitch.
FWIW the Rapids play on field turf.

I know a couple of teams do...I think Real Salt Lake used to as well. When the big name players and teams come through they bitch and complain about it every single time. It gets a bit tiresome, actually.

A lot of people actually...it is probably coming to KC when the World Cup comes to the US. It will bring 300-500 million to the area with it.
