2nd degree burns are like what you get if you keep hands over an open flame a few seconds too long. It's minor. His hands blistered over and then the blisters broke open during practice.

It's minor and requires little medical intervention. That doesn't mean it didn't hurt. Probably very painful. But it's not like Mangino dipped the kids hands in scalding hot water for minutes at a time.

Its hard to see in this day where the states money would be allowed to go to something like this.

I'd bet that there are stories very similar all over the nation. We live in such a litigious society it will probably start a "process improvement" task force mandate by the NCAA to give players a chance to sound off against program.

The strange thing is that it was only 1 hand, (because a few days later he said that Mangino said he would burn the other) was he wearing 1 glove, hopping on 1 hand
