Mark Mangino will not return as Kansas football coach, a source close to the situation told Joe Schad of ESPN Thursday night.
The team is scheduled to be told at a meeting Thursday evening.
Athletic director Lew Perkins launched an investigation into Mangino's treatment of players three weeks ago. The Jayhawks won the first five games of the season before going on a seven-game losing streak. Mangino was 50-48 in eight years -- two wins shy of the school record for a coach.
After going 12-1 in 2007 and winning the Orange Bowl, Mangino was given a raise and a contract extension through 2012.

For everything Briscoe has done at the college level, he's a very marginal pro prospect.

He's basically a shitty version of Adarius Bowman who is still not in the league.

I hate to say it but Herm would probably be a damn good college coach. He could be like Pete Carroll. If he could recruit, which I think he probably could with a pro-set offense and Cover 2 defense lots of kids with NFL dreams would bite on that, he could do it. You can get away with lot of his coaching mistakes in college with elite talent.

For Alexander, his 40 time will have a ton to do with his draft position. Because of the knee and all of that.

He has size, but being from the gimmicky offense does hurt him.
