Is there a site that has the margin of victory for each team? I know you talked about that quite a bit a couple of years ago, and it just so happened that Kansas and Memphis were #1 and #2 that year. I was looking at UK's schedule, and that's one thing that stuck out to me (the close games, that is, compared to Kansas), granted it's still early.

Sorry....but the firing of Billy Gillespie and Mark Mangino (let's call it what it really was) aren't that much different.

But I will agree that UK fans are pretty looney.

Was Gillespie abusive to the players?

Mangino fired himself with his actions... I dont think the fans of message boards had anything to do with it...

And yes, point differential is usually an indication of who the best teams are in a given year. So far, KU is in 1st, UT is in 2nd, and I believe Syracuse comes in at 3rd with a +22.

Recently, I've just been using Ken Pomeroy's offensive and defensive efficiency ratings, though. They show pretty much the same thing, but more effectively and with the benefit of strength of schedule already applied to it.

Last year, UNC had by far the best point differential if I'm not mistaken.

Gillespie got what, 2 years at UK? That's quite a bit different than Mangino's situation.

Yes....and so was Mangino. Gillespie didn't help himself with his behavior off the court either.

But you're right....fans don't get coaches fired. But they sure do become entertaining when coaches get fired.

I didnt know about Billy G's behavior... Heard some about his off campus, but private lifes are just that...

And good ridance to Mangino... It just sickens me to hear what he did...

Well its a good thing KU has a semi-stable fan base that knows when to we have a loser coach, vs having a coach that is dealing with more than even the best coach in america can hadle.

I'm not sure how much sense that made. But taking over for a disgruntled team, then dealing with a transition, and still winning the big 12 several years, then moving on to national championships, seems like a quality step to me. Bill Self is a god in larryville.
