ChiefsPlanet Writer's Group

We started an online critique group for the Fall of 2009 and it ceased just before the holidays. It was a rewarding experience and I just wanted to set up a new announcement for Chiefsplaneteers who love to write and want to consider working with writers on improving our craft or just finding the motivation to write or just for fun. All genres are welcome.

If you're interested in becoming a member of the ChiefsPlanet Writer's Group please feel free to shoot me a PM for the details on how to join.

This could go very well, or very poorly.

Given that this is the Planet, poorly is the safe bet. But I'll contribute something.

Ask those who regularly contributed and I think they would say it went very well. We only ask that you are serious about improving your writing.

On that note, if any other writers of creative nonfiction want to workshop, I'm down.

Actually, it is. I've had quite a few PMs showing interest. I just wanted to convey that our online writer's group is free to join. We merely encourage, critique, and try to inspire each other and our endeavor to improve our craft.

We'll be starting the new group in a couple of weeks. So if you're thinking of joining us, now's the time.

By this you mean that I write something the morning of the meeting, you guys read it, think "jesus, that's the worst thing I've read since the last meeting", tell me my writing is very...unique, reminiscent of a reeruned Cormac McCarthy in that it's very strange and has no punctuation. You suggest that further exploration into areas like "plot" and "structure" and "characterization" and "writing" my be valuable and then you laugh at me for an hour on IMs.

It always goes like clockwork!

(actually it's been a lot of fun, people who are thinking about it....)

Yeah, sort of like that. Now stop ****ing around on the Planet and get back to improving your writing, you slouch.
