I love that his explanation begins with "Remember when the Chiefs had a solid strong safety in Bernard Pollard?"

No. No I don't. Do any of the rest of you?

I remember when we had a shitty strong safety in Bernard Pollard pretty well, though.

It sure would have been nice to keep him though. releasing Pollard was one of the worst moves this staff made before the season. It just gave us another hole to fill on the defense.

Another thing that caught my eye (only because it was immediately after the Shipley pick):

LaMarr Houston is a great player. Don't believe me? Houston is a 6-2, 300-pound defensive tackle who runs a low 4.9. I told you LaMarr Houston is a great player.

Wait. He's a great player. Don't believe me? He's big and runs fast!

What?

If I had the Lions in the CP Mock this year, I'd very seriously consider taking him.

DISCLAIMER: Obviously, this is dependent on STL doing the right thing and taking Suh.
Even if Suh is off the board, the Lions are more than likely to take Gerald McCoy. Their defensive line is horrible. They had an offensive guard starting their last season. They take a DT, either Suh or McCoy.

Realistically, based on pure need, yes.

But I put nothing past Schwartz. If Berry is higher on their board than McCoy, they'll take him, need be damned.

They'd probably go McCoy, the guy is only not the first DT because like a dipshit he didn't come out last year.

If Mays universally starts to slip considerably on all draft boards, it is because Scouts have handed in their Senior evaulations and these guys are getting rumors of their grades. If it is only here and there then it just discussion fodder.

Anyone doing mocks and dropping him is being stupid and not realizing that Mays will be a high riser in the offseason.

His worst case scenario is falling to the 20's and ending up on a good team.

Walter has gotten cute with his mocks lately. If a player is overrated then he is shit. Its sortof like some people like here feel. Its stupid, unless he under performs in the combine he isnt dropping. If he drops I predicts he is this years Michael Oher (who I got ridiculed for thinking was the best LT over Finesse Monroe, Converted TE Smith and Lardass Smith). I want it on record so I can throw it back in peoples face after next year.

Okung works for me. I think it all starts on the OL. IF Okung is as good as his reviews from multiple sites I'd have no problem with it at all. Berry looks like a good player and I'd be fine with taking him but a mauling LT with Albert sliding over to guard and putting Waters at C gives me a woody.

Now Suh if he was on the board would really trip my trigger.

Oher dropped because of concerns about his intelligence/personality.
