I believe you drew a comparison of Gilyard to DeSean Jackson earlier, and Mayock did the same in the latter stages of that game.

FWIW, guys like Ford and Gilyard are increasingly good value. Quick twitch guys can't get gobbled up @ the line anymore, and thus have much more value.

OG: Sergio Render, Saffold
OT: Ciron Black (falling hard and will be good value as a RT in the later half of the draft)
Chris Scott, who is just a ****ing monster
Jared Heldheer, really interesting developmental prospect.

C: Matt Tennant

Correct.

That's what he looked like in that game w/ his explosiveness. To me, the 6'2" 205 lb. receiver is a bit antiquated with the way the game is currently played. You need guys who create physical mismatches with their size (Alexander), their straight line speed (Ford), or their movement in space (Gilyard).

I'm big on Tennant.

If he's there in the 4th, he's got to be the pick.

I have been highly unimpressed with Black, but he might be good value in the 5th.

I will say one thing: It pains me the way the '09 draft went.

Just imagine if we had a QBOTF, stayed in the 4-3, and drafted Mauluga in the second.

Then go Berry, Spoon with your top two picks.

All of a sudden, the middle of your defense is:

Dorsey
Mauluga
Berry

Makes my eyes rain.**

Also, it's why people piss me off when they say the '09 draft is over. Chronologically, yes, but it will affect the next 5-10 years of this franchise's direction. Drafts never occur in a vacuum.

And to think it was all done by Pioli and some shitcanned scout from NE.

1- Berry
2- Hughes
2a- Gilyard
3- Tennent
4- Micah Johnson

If you're looking at WR's in round 2 I like Damaryius Thomas much more than Gilyard.

I think he'll go to WKU. Nebraska got one of the best QB's in next years class to commit and also got a walk-on QB too. The coach at WKU went to the same high school as Carnes and they have a personal relationship.
