Willie Parker on the Chiefs radar?

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/footb...-signing_N.htm

Chiefs coach Todd Haley 'excited' by signing of RB Thomas Jones

By Jim Corbett, USA TODAY
Kansas City Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli and head coach Todd Haley landed a desired complement for quarterback Matt Cassel and third-year running back Jamaal Charles with Tuesday's acquisition of former New York Jets power back and respected locker-room leader Thomas Jones.
The 31-year-old Jones rushed for 1,402 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2009 and adds firepower to 4-12 team that averaged just 18.1 points per game. Jones scored 27 touchdowns the past two seasons and is a between-the-tackles jack hammer who will move the chains and help keep Charles and the Chiefs defense fresh.

The Jets saved $5.8 million by paring Jones from their roster last week. ESPN reported the deal with the Chiefs is for two years and in the $5 million range.

THE HUDDLE: Catch up on all the NFL player movement

Haley made it known at the NFL scouting combine two weeks ago that he sought a complement for the 5-11, 199-pound Charles, who rushed for 1,120 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 40 passes for 297 additional yards with another touchdown.

"He's an impressive guy. We can't have enough guys like Thomas," Haley said. "It's one thing to be a leader and another to have the ability to back it up. Thomas does that and is excited to continue to show that.

"He had his best year last year. And I'm excited he wants to be here.

The older brother of Seattle Seahawks running back Julius Jones rushed for a career-high last season after producing 1,119 yards or better each of the past five seasons.

"He fits what we're looking for," Haley said. "He's a good player, loves the game and is an excellent preparation guy and a good teammate.

"He's been a part of other teams turning it in the right direction and he's excited to be a part of this."

The Chiefs may not be done adding to their backfield. They have a Thursday visit scheduled with Pittsburgh Steelers free-agent back Willie Parker.

"If we have a chance to add good football players, we're going to do it," Haley said. "This was a great example of a good fit, no different than what we've been able to do coaching staff wise. We need to because we only won four games last year and we've got to be better this year."

Herm Edwards SYSTEMATICALLY destroyed the Chiefs as a franchise by ignoring the decaying offensive line, trading Jared Allen and entering TWO seasons with the likes of Damon Huard, Brodie Croyle and Tyler Thigpen as the team's only options at QB.

That has NOTHING to do with Vermeil, yet the fact you refuse to hold Herm 100% accountable speaks volumes.

Do you have a sexual fetish for black head coaches? Do you like the fact Herm uses mostly one syllable words that makes it easy for someone with your limited education/comprehension level to understand?
The core of this team right now should be the players drafted during Dick's tenure as HC.

Instead, we got Jack and Shit.

But Grandpa made it fun!

(as he and Carl ****ing carpet bombed the core of this ****ing franchise)

Giving DV the keys to the car was easily the single worst decision of the decade.

So you're saying that a team should build a franchise on 3 players who are under 30 and good?

#1 - The offensive line was one of about a billion holes left for Herm. You have to prioritize somewhere. Didn't help that rather than let Herm tear the team up and rebuild, Peterson insisted on bringing in old free agent stopgaps to try to push the window out one year further.
#2 - Jared Allen wasn't traded by Herm. That's ridiculous. He was traded because Carl Peterson was such a dipshit that he tried to publicly criticize Allen as an at-risk player so he could lowball him in negotiations.
#3 - Okay, fine, true

Nothing to do with Vermeil? Nothing? That's comical

Glad people are finally on board with me here. It's comments like these that were spreading like wildfire. Nobody is defending Herm as a good coach. But I think people are starting to see that he did inherit a shitty situation and I think a lot of people thought he was bringing this team along nicely, if we had stuck with the 4-3. Nobody defends his coaching decisions. But at least people are starting to see that no matter who took over as coach for Vermeil was in a very bad, losing situation.

Anyone that thinks Milkman/Sidewinder is a Herm ****ing Edwards fan is completely oblivious to his posts. I think Herm ****ing Edwards ranks 1 notch ABOVE Marty Shottenhiemer. Otherwise he would be leading the "HERM" bashing.

I don't think too many people didn't recognize that Herman ****ing Edwards inherited a bad situation.

We just didn't believe he was the right guy to fix it, and didn't believe that even if he put together a talented roster, he was just too stupid to win with it.

Actually, Herman ****ing Edwards is the worst coach the Chiefs have had in their 50 years, other than fake jet fighter pilot Ganz.

But there's this misconception Marty was a great coach, so I feel compelled to fight that.

This thread reminds me of the Battle of Gettysburg.

A group of posters hold the high ground, and a group of dumbasses are trying to take it over. Bit by bit, they gather up more and more strength and more and more posters in an attempt to take the high ground, but end up never succeeding at the task because they're ****ing dumbasses and they're fighting an uphill battle.

The result is a catastrophic loss of life and a complete waste of everybody's time.

Man, you're onto something. You want to talk about coaches that couldn't draft worth shit?

When the most valuable player to the franchise from those two drafts is Gary ****ing Stills, then you know you have a problem.
