*****OFFICIAL 2010 NFL Draft Thread*****

Here we go, all things draft for the next at least 3 days.

I think it's about time I started one of these things, hopefully I'll bring some good luck to the draft so we don't **** this up.

Jamaal Charles and Reggie Bush are not the same player.

The Saints should use Bush how we're going to use McCluster.

We have the best GM in the league making our decisions.

He knows more than you or me. Easily.

You're right. Charles may end up being far better. We don't know yet. He's certainly gotten off to a better start than Bush has.

Lets reflect on this draft.

We got a stud, playmaking DB, Eric Berry.

We got a stud, but small, quick, fast, good hands, and playmaker in Dexter McCluster.

We got Javier Arenas, the best kick returner, and punt returner in college football, plus he intercepted baby Jesus last year in the red zone.

We got a new solid OL, Jon Asomoah. He can play Center or LG, or RG.

We got a TE with a ton of talent that is injury prone, but if he stays healthy could be a steal.

Kendrick Lewis and Sheffield are camp fodders IMO.

well go look at previous 5th-7th round draft picks...

finding a good player in these rounds doesn't happen often...

they are basically teams first chance at getting their UDFA without giving the player a choice on where they want to play...

anyone who invests any negative emotional reaction to who we select in the 5th round is a ****ing moron.

and for the record...

our very own Brandon Carr didn't have an NFL.com draft profile the year he was drafted...

want to know why?

because the people doing the projections do about 1/1000th of the work the people making the picks do, and have access to about 1/1000th of the resources and information the people making the picks have.

I'm not quite sure how people think Walter Football is anything more than a Mecca with even more time on his hands...

(which is shocking since our mecca is 29, has no job, and lives at home...he's an out of work NFL GM I guess)

I'm going to give Pioli some credit on the Moeaki pick. While I still think the guy would've been there for our 4th round pick, I think he went after a guy with a Tony Gonzalez type dynamic. He's trying to find a steal in the draft that will give KC something that they're desperately missing.

I hope he's spot on with it.

HOW DARE ANYONE QUESTION PIOLI!! UR NOT A GM!!!

hang on, so Pioli gets a free pass for passing on certain players, while another 'NFL GM' goes ahead and picks said player a few picks later. Why does Pioli only know more than us?

appreciate the insult.

Any team could use an extra weapon like him. Besides, the Saints haven't exactly drafted for need anyways, nor have they ever under Payton's reign.

I knew Carr was going to get drafted that year. I could have (and probably did in the draft thread) give a profile of him. I saw the dude play in person 3 times.

I don't give a shit about our 5th round picks...if one of them works out and becomes a starter...major awesome sweet victory!

As for our first 5 picks...everyone always talks about Gosselin's top 100 and we scored 5 top what, 60 players?

we added the defensive rookie of the year...an elite returner who shores up our shitty ass secondary...a dynamic weapon on offense...a potential pro bowl TE (if he can stay healthy) and a guard who is projected to be very good...

and all of them are high character guys who seem to really enjoy the game of football...

This draft was total, complete, 100% win.

Can't wait for football season now.

It's common around here. Don't take it personally at all. You've seen The Meat Dragon and I going back and forth. He's a buddy of mine on my facebook page. He's alright.

You're a welcome addition around here, but you won't be here for long if you take that stuff personally. It's just the internet, glide right over it.
