This is the best team the US has fielded in decades.

edit: posted it already in this thread, but if you compare the 2002 world cup team to this one, its like comparing the 2008 chiefs to the 1995 chiefs. Night and Day.

edit: getting years straight.

At least this team SHOULD make it out of the group.

Do you mean the 2002 team or the 2006 team? The 2002 team beat Portugal and tied S. Korea, and then beat Mexico in the round of 16. I would say this team is better than them though. Lets not talk about 2006.

Memory is hard at 5am on a sunday morning apparently... The 2002 team would have gotten killed by this team. We look like a quality international squad for once, and without Reyna or McBride.

Watched the game at our "Sports Centre" here is Soham, U.K. That first goal allowed was horrid. Our back line trailed the ball like lost puppies, aweful. England dominated the second half, IMO. Very fortunate to come out with a draw. U.S. will advance to the knock out round.

It was fun watching the locals howl at Green's misplay...goal keeper is the only position we outshined the England squad.

Way too much Stella and Old Speckled Hen...yeesh.
