All Royals All The Time!

After consultation with others who peruse the game threads we decided to create this as a repository for all things Royals. Minor league news, AL (ahem) Central (thanks Vonne) news and anything Royals can be found here.

alnorth, me and atleast 5 others will continue the game threads as usual. But if you locate something of interest.. ANYTHING.. deals on apparel, best ways in/out of the stadium, giveaways, great stories from this season or from seasons gone by, rumors, trades, anything.... feel free to post it here.

If a big story breaks, you can still start a thread about it. There is merely an all inclusive thread that will make a easy for us all to keep up with all things Royals.

Just an aside:

It's ridiculous that we're potentially looking to move Meche this season, yet we didn't trade him last year, when his value was at its highest.

Why does the Royals front office want Francoeur so much? Ohhh yeah, he strikes out alot and has a sh*tty OBP. Whew, I forgot what Dayton's M.O. was there for a second.

With that said, if we can get a bag of donuts for Guillen, lets go for it.

* The Yankees "made a big proposal" for Royals closer Joakim Soria. With three club options, the 26-year-old righty is under team control through 2014. Had Soria not signed a team-friendly extension in May of 2008, he'd be eligible for free agency after the 2012 season. The only blemish on his record was missing most of May last year with a sore shoulder. How do the Yankees and Royals match up? You'd expect Dayton Moore to pursue Jesus Montero or Austin Romine, though the Royals already have Billy Butler and Wil Myers in the organization.

I'd be shocked if they were offering Montero.

I hope Dayton at least seriously considered this one before saying no, Soria is great but this Montero kid seems like a can't miss prospect about ready to be called up. I wouldn't mind Hosmer Moose Montero Butler for our future 3-6

If it's Montero, you make that trade and try Tejeda or Louis Coleman at closer.

And I say that assuming Montero won't stick at C. Even if he's a DH/1B, his bat appears to be that good.

Would complicate things for Kila, but, well ... it's Montero. And it seems that Kila may never get a fair shake anyway. If Butler got hurt you'd probably see Willie Bloomquist play 1B.
