All Royals All The Time!

After consultation with others who peruse the game threads we decided to create this as a repository for all things Royals. Minor league news, AL (ahem) Central (thanks Vonne) news and anything Royals can be found here.

alnorth, me and atleast 5 others will continue the game threads as usual. But if you locate something of interest.. ANYTHING.. deals on apparel, best ways in/out of the stadium, giveaways, great stories from this season or from seasons gone by, rumors, trades, anything.... feel free to post it here.

If a big story breaks, you can still start a thread about it. There is merely an all inclusive thread that will make a easy for us all to keep up with all things Royals.

Minor league notes :

John Lamb being moved up (again), this time from High A to AA. Third level already this year, and he's completely dominated the first two stops. Supposedly, the Royals don't let pitchers throw their slider until AA, and Lamb apparently has a good one. That only adds to the giddiness about his performance so far.

Montgomery is easing his way back, having thrown 2.2 innings with no walks and 4 Ks for the Arizona League rookie team a couple of days ago.

Danny Duffy had another good start in High A ball tonight; 5 innings, 2 hits, 3 walks and 7 Ks. Slowly but surely, he's making his way back to legit prospect status.

Hosmer hit another HR tonight, and that makes 6 in his first 12 games. I guess we can start to dismiss the lack of power concerns on this guy.

Christian Colon has his average up into the .270s after his awful start. OPS is still only .710, but it's moving up slowly.

It's awesome that he's doing so well, but this, combined with Moosetaco's first 14 games in Omaha, continue to raise concerns about park in Arkansas.

Would have to see Hosmer's splits to be sure, but this is the first thing that came to mind.

Moose is hitting .220 in 59 abs and has 1 walk 2 HR 5 RBI .585 OPS

Actually I would almost feel more comfortable with Kila on the mound at this point.

I doubt the Phillies are going to send Werth to the Royals unless they are trading for Soria...although that would actually be a theft since Werth would just leave.

Maybe Domonic Brown for Soria (would be a haul for KCR), since the Phillies need help at the back of their pen.

So what is it about the park in Arkansas? People just jack it out like it's nothing there. Based on stats alone I would assume that Arkansas is a hitters park and Wilmington is a pitcher's park.

Is this Clint Robinson guy worth a sh*t? One of our many first basemen. I don't hear much about him, but he seems to be having a good season. 18 homers, 42 walks, .318 batting average in Arkansas.

The minor league system is very encouraging, but the problem is that DM has provided precious little evidence that he is capable of managing and assembling a ML roster.

Yes, build from within, but our GM will need to supplement with strong trades and FA acquisitions. The latter two categories haven't been entirely disastrous, but the biggest (and most expensive) moves that he's made have been failures. And some of these failures defied good baseball sense from the onset.

If he ends up being the world's greatest drafter, I suppose he'll overcome a lot of errors, but that's damn near asking for the world.
