Check this out: [8.4.2010 5792261] Notice of Copyright Infringement

Problem is they leave it on the box long enough for someone to rip it to the PC....

I havent set mine up to do that.. I am not a big movie fan the way it is anyway.

The first guy who comes to my mind is Ben Folds. He's an amazing piano player and he's also a classically trained percussionist.

- John Mayer - some of his songs are cheesey, but the dude can shred. He's an incredible guitarist.

- 311 - Tim Mahoney (guitar), Aaron Wills (Bass), Chad Sexton (Drums) - If you want great musicianship, these guys have the chops. If you haven't heard them, you should check them out. You might hate their style, but there's no denying that these guys are ridiculous.

- John Fruciante - He's been around since the '80s, but he's still putting out relevant & excellent stuff.

- Kings of Leon - I'm sure this isn't what you're thinking of when you say great players like Steve Vai, but the musicianship in this band is top notch.

The problem you'll have in trying to find another EVH or Eric Johnson is that stuff is way out of favor these days. It's more about a well written song than some epic guitar shredding. You can likely find that at your local guitar shop.

I think a lot of the stuff being put out by Jack White, Wilco, KOL, The Kooks, Beck, Ryan Adams, and several other bands will easily stand the test of time.

I know where you're coming from, though. I still think no decade will ever stand up to my fav: Pearl Jam, Counting Crows, Soul Asylum, Nirvana, REM, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc.
Actually, I was referring to players new to this decade.

I know that Kings of Leon are somewhat successful but I wouldn't lump them in the "influential musicians" category.

Songwriting? Sure. But not as players. There's nothing groundbreaking or out of the ordinary going on.

Why havent the movie and music industry invested into new technology to prevent this from happening or trying to stay ahead of the game? I know that suing eveyrone is the way to go, Everyone sues... But wouldnt you think that taking a forward approach would of been better?

Because every time DRM is introduced to CD's or DVD's, people bitch and complain and sales slump.

There is currently no happy medium.

Hmmm, I find the way they put things together very inspiring, unique, and influential. Granted, not in an EVH way....

Let me think about that. I'm not really into the virtuoso thing, but I know I can come up with a list of great players.

Fair enough.

Why dont they work closer with the Internet Service providers to block these sharing applications and ports down across the country?

But your not into that you just want to brow beat everyone...

At this point you can Die.....
I am so sorry for your parents. I would be ashamed beyond belief in any of my kids had this attitude about stealing from others. Or maybe your folks they think this is OK and raised you to belive that stealing is no big deal.

I'll just let it go but I am almost speechless that not only would you steal, but admit it openly and then act as if it's nothing. Good God, what if you were a crime victim and the perp flaunted this type of attitude in your face? Do you have no pride at all?

Wow...thanks again to Dane for expressing things so much better than I could. I'm just sort of shocked. This really does remind me of that Midnight Vulture dude coming on here and bragging about swiping a laptop.

Hell who knows how much porn you watch on the internet... Are you paying for that service?

I understand what I did, but funny how people wont admit to what they do... I downloaded and watched Transformers 2, Smokey and the Bandit and 2 John Wayne movies. Downloaded some random local bands and some from Rocklahoma the last couple of years. I'll admit it...

But I do think its funny that everyone is willing to blast me, but yet take the time to watch GoChiefs movies and highlights over the season. Irony at its finest...

What I did it legally and morally wrong to do, especially to a failing industry. Dane in his normal abusive way has kindly explained that and has given some good information concerning the industry when he isnt screaming that he hates me and my life.

I just find it ironic that some people here have ripped me, called me a thief, yet they are in other threads talking about players and plays on copyrighted material...
