Oh, shut the **** up.

Colin Brown was drafted as the #58th best offensive lineman overall. They drafted him as a right tackle and after a few weeks in training camp, they moved him inside. He looked pretty damn good, certainly better than Goff, before being stashed on IR.

He's been waived but he's eligible for the practice squad. I don't like how they moved him back outside, because he doesn't have the footwork to be a successful right tackle, but as I've said since the draft, I have no idea what they'd do with Lilja, Asamoah & Brown - three right guards. Asamoah made Brown expendable, which basically negates his draft slot.

As for Harris, he was running with the first team and was injured. Considering he missed most of preseason, it's not a surprise they waived him. By waiving him (and hopefully resigning him to the practice squad) they can move him onto the active roster more quickly than if he were placed on the PUP. As you know, if they placed him on IR, he'd be gone for the year.

I'll be shocked (though not surprised, considering the Chiefs inability to judge offensive lineman) if he's not back with the Chiefs. Had he not sustained injury, it's possible he could have held off Waters for the starting left guard position.

Waters is done.

He would have been a NFLEL candidate if they still had it.

If he's serious about switching to OL he should work to slowly add 20 + lbs and go from there. If he stays in the KC area, work out at Will Shields gym/fitness center or whatever that place he runs or train with some OL coach or ex player, etc.

The kid has a good frame, could be somewhat athletic, and obviously a great attitude. But right now he's too raw to even put on the PS.

so i agree, not suprised either.

Either Harris or Lem JeanPierre will make it to the PS as a G/C. Somewhat similar players so not both. I like both of them though.

You've got to be shitting me.

The Chiefs cut a younger player who has the ability to start over a player with multiple Pro Bowls?

They must be dumb as ****!

I really like Dion Gales too. Just needs more time to develop. That guy is quick for such a big SOB. Would be nice if he could play nose. He seems to have poor conditioning though getting gasses pretty easily the last 2 preseason games and didn't pass the conditioning test for the first couple of days so that appears to be an issue with him.

At the time, I posted every player drafted out of Texas over the last four or five years and it completely contradicts the point you are trying to make. It may have been the case in years previous to that, but Texas has turned out some pretty good NFL players.

I also tried to argue the point that just because a "Kyle Boller" flops, doesn't mean you pass on a "Aaron Rodgers".

You have to look at the indicators for the player to succeed.

production
measurables
work ethic
technique
ability to dominate
big games
maturity

Orakpo arguably had all of these indicators working in his favor.

Over time, Orakpo...otherwise known as toilet brush, will end up as the best pick that we could have made out of that class.

Oh well, hopefully a lesson was learned.

Other than Orapko, who has lived up to their high draft status?

And once again, let's hold off an St. Orapko.

damn near every player over the last 4-5 years has been worth his draft position. Not everyone, that would be nearly impossible, but most.

Orakpo isn't only a legitimate pass rush threat, he is a beast against the run. One of the guys I rent a room to is a Redskins fan and I watched about every game last year (unless they played at the same time as the Chiefs, so probably 10 games or more) and because I wanted him as our pick, I paid a lot of attention to him. He routinely not just stood up linemen, he took some off their feet going straight up. He can hold the point against the best of competition and at an early age. He played both defensive end and outside linebacker in a 4-3 and showed very well wherever they played him.

He would have been a homerun of a pick in that draft and would have already had numerous threads about him comparing him to DT and more than a few here (not sure I would be one of them) would be projecting astronomical numbers for him next year and in following years.

I think he will develop into a 14-16 sack guy in Jim Hasletts defense that helps them key a top ten run defense. That kind of guy is worth top five picks in any draft.

That's what I see him as.

I love the chances Studebaker has of becoming a force for us, but Orakpo would have been a true "franchise pass rusher" which is arguably any defenses most important player.

I like it

St. Orakpo

Orakpo had flags though...he didn't start till late in his career, he couldn't beat OT's that weren't playing at the next level several times during the season..he looked like a classic workout warrior at 1 point.
