Misc looking for a new car... - Page 4

I'm looking for a relatively new car finally after having my old one forever it seems. I just graduated from college about a year ago and my new job I've had for about a year has given me some good money. I came across a 2010 Toyota 4runner that has 5,000 miles on it for like $30,000. I'm gonna get them down obviously, but is this a good deal from the start? I wonder how much I can get them down. I could get a new car for that much dough that will be some of my ammunition. I'm looking for either a Toyota Highlander, 4runner. All my family has Toyotas as well as my fiancee. I love them. Now I want one lol. Thoughts?

I'd rather get a relatively new one than having to spend the money always keeping it up for stuff I wouldn't have to pay for if it were newer. I'd likely pay more than 9k keeping a 9k car up than I would for a newer car.

First, you should do whatever you want. You only live once. But. There are a great many cars you can buy for under 9k that will carry you around for the next 10 years if you take care of it.

Find a 2000/2001 Jeep Cherokee with 50,000 miles for around 7k...you'll get 300,000 miles out of it, if you do the maintenance.(oil change, etc)

If I lived in a non-mountain town, I would probably consider just a plain car like I had. But here in the winter we get a lot of snow. In one storm last year we got six feet of snow. Pretty much sucked.

My Cherokee pulled out a 40ft ford excursion limo stuck in the the snow on an uphill corner last winter.

there was no taxes on the $3000-7000 and most of the deals came with an additional $3000-4000 off so depending where you went most people got between $6000-10000 off .

The chances depend on the research you do for the make and model of the car you can afford. The reliability reputations of certain brands aren't an accident.

By doing your homework. A little over a year ago we bought a 04 Camry for $10k, and I've spent a grand total of $150 on repairs and maintenance so far on it. Although it helps if you can do some of the shit yourself.

The timing belt replacement is coming up though, that's going to cost me a bit of coin...nfw I'm trying that on my own.
