Arenas didn't really give the team "quality play" from the nickle tonight. Apart from the standout, excellent near-INT on the final drive, that is. He was routinely destroyed in coverage tonight. Which I'm not even mad about; he and Berry need to make mistakes in order to learn. But let's not pretend that he was a particularly effective DB tonight.

Good Post. I'm sure Hootie Harris will ignore it.

oh WTF ever

lets not try and pretend like we all watched Arenas on every play and knew all of his assignments and all of his **** ups...

come the **** on

Reaper saying he was routinely burned is like me saying he routinely was in every right spot...

lets try and prove each other wrong

you guys are on one side of the spectrum

I'm on the other

but I win...

because our 2nd round pick plays 60% or more of our defensive snaps and returns kicks very effectively...

THAT'S GREAT VALUE OUT OF A MID-LATE 2ND ROUND PICK...

SOMETHING YOU MORONS APPARENTLY DON'T UNDERSTAND BECAUSE YOU THINK EVERY 2ND ROUNDER SHOULD BE AN ALL-PRO WHEN, IF YOU LOOK AT THE FACTS...

ABOUT 1, MAYBE 2...EVERY YEAR EVER REACH THAT STATUS.

IF NOT LESS.

so yes...

Carr and Flowers were outstanding...

and I think Arenas easily held his own...to say the least.

Our secondary, and defense as a whole, is extremely underrated...

Our offense gave them no help tonight...and they were gassed to the extremes at the end but they showed heart and pulled it off!

What a great team win...and what a great start to the season!

and it feels great that mecca and hamas are going to have rough nights because of it...fake fan message board trolls

Chiefs THROUGH AND THROUGH!

it's all turning around now

I can't disagree with this. And no one here agrees with the sentiment that the Chiefs' secondary is underrated more than me; I've been Carr's staunchest defender on this entire board.

I could be wrong, but I believe he knocked down two passes, including the near INT.

That wasn't Garrard lining up behind center for the Chargers though. I mean, the coverage had to be pretty good to hold the Chargers to 14 points.

Rain helped. A lot. Naanee was abusing Arenas when the weather was more conducive to passing (1st and 4th quarters). The secondary also tightened up in critical spots, forcing a few throwaways. It isn't like I'm saying that he was an abortion out there. Growing pains is all.
