Too many fans fail to realize that much more than what we see or hear goes on.

You weren't at OTA's, off season conditioning, all of TC etc...

I doubt Vrable deserves to start. But what you dont understand is he KNOWS this defense. And since we have so much youth out there, he's kinda like on-field coach. Do I like it? No. I'd much rather have someone out there who can actually play the position at a higher level.

I hate the fact that JC isnt getting more carries. We dont know why that is. I cant even speculate. Its vexing, to be sure.

Those who dislike Pioli will clutch onto any negative Chiefs' because it supports their agenda.

As an NFL HC once said, "You think you know, but really don't."

What more can Charles do? 7 yards a carry, 8? Thomas Jones is a good running back, Jamaal Charles is a gamebreaker.

Is is possible that JC is being used sparingly because of his shoulder surgery? Is it possible that the game plan is to use Jones up early, and have JC ready to whoop ass in the last 6 games of the season? Is it possible that they have put some more thought into this than some silly "pride" issue and some crap about not being the guys who drafted JC?

Could it be, that Chiefs Nation, sitting in the un-likely position of having our beloved team at 2-0, just doesn't know what the **** to do with itself?

If the team were 0-2, the complaining about this would be x10.

like running for 256 against denver? being the 2nd best RB in the league once they finally let him start?

and then being a made a backup to a slower less talented RB for no reason anyone anywhere will dare address?

he's 'earned' the right to start 10x times over

I love how Thomas Jones is also now a scrap heap RB. Guy ran for 1400 last year.

In any event, McCluster is one hell of a good RB. Heck, we saw some great runs out of him in preseason. And he had some unbelievable runs at Ole Miss.

And don't get me wrong, I love Charles. I just don't think the brass at Arrowhead will leave their high 2nd round pick in the shed any longer than they have to.

And I am not really saying the Chiefs should trade Charles. But something is just not adding up at the RB spot when the 2nd best RB in the NFL can not get on the field... or that we even needed to bring in 2 legit guys at that same position. Jones isn't going anywhere, and neither is McCluster. Odd man out is... Charles.
Yea. I heard Houston's comment too. He did lament not moving McCluster to RB earlier.

I know he is, and potentially can be, a good RB. However, if DMC either was targeted for the RB spot (which is not what was advertised on draft day) or has evolved to make Charles the odd man out (hard to believe since DMC has had very few carries so far), then the Chiefs dropped the ball on Charles' value. If in fact he was/is the odd man out, his value would have never been higher than coming of last season's incredible second half and should have been traded (which I would not have been in favor of). If he is going to be kept on the roster, how can you justify not putting him on the field with the explosiveness he brings to the table?

There has got to be more to this story than Thomas beating out JC for the starting job. Thomas was elevated to number 1 on the depth chart before 2 weeks of camp had gone by. They hadn't even played in a preseason game at the time of that announcement. This is no slight on Thomas. I know he is a good back, but he is 32 and faded badly at the end of last season. How much mileage could be left? Why would you invest so much in somebody that likely isn't going to be around as long as a young Charles and is far less explosive?

The other mystery is Haley evades the question of Charles' play like the plague. When asked if he thought Charles was getting enough touches he answered the question by asking what their record was. What a cop out. Answering a question with a question is not an answer. If there is a difference between the players ability, why not simply answer the question? If you're going to hold these pressers and just rattle off cliches, save your breath and cancel them. Don't waste everybody's time. I was actually a little miffed that the reporter asking the question let Haley get away with that. As a paying fan, I wanted to know. But it's obvious that this will continue to be a mystery until either Haley or Charles leave the Chiefs. I don't think Charles will beef in public. He seems like a team first guy, which makes this even more of a head scratcher.
