Both rooks look really good. Our bench is already WAY better. They keep playing from the mid-quarter on almost every game and we are in great shape.

Lakers up 58 - 36 at half. Looks like the bench will be playing the great majority of the 2nd half UH gain. GO LAKERS!!!

Milwaukee sucks and the Lakers haven't played defense yet this year.
Now is not the time for beating chests. Wake me when they play 4 sound defensive quarters on the road against a quality opponent. Otherwise you just sound like another Heat fan.

Laker games are always highscoring. thats not going to change. Laker play a fast paced game. The only time they gotta play defense is against elite teams. You cant outscore them.
Regular season for the Lakers is just warm up. Dont kid yourself. Phil does all kinds of crazy shit during the regular season. He plays bad line ups. Let his team lose leads basically on purpose so they know how to react to that kind of thing come play off time. Phil's the zen master for a reason yO. |

Sorry, but there's no excuse for giving up 107 to the Bucks.
We know they can score, that goes without saying. But the team defense let them down on several occasions in the playoffs. A dominating team defense comes only through a mindset and through repetition. You have to know hwere your help is and where you need to be just as much as you do on offense. Half-assing the defense during the regular season is going to lead to problems in the post-season. It's early to get too wound up about it, but I want to see some defensive intensity by the quarter pole. P.S. Major props to Shannon Brown. He's going to be a better version of what Ariza was for us 2 seasons ago. He's become a very dangerous 3 pt shooter and brings insane athleticism to the table. I wonder if there's any chance of getting him PG minutes in the future. He's not a bad passer and Phil loves his big 1 guards. If you can figure out a way to make him a Deron Williams-type point, you can justify keeping him even after this insanely cheap 2 year deal we have him on expires.

Uh, like the last two years right? It really bit us in the ass.... Relax...You can't play game 7 against Boston defense every night, you would have no legs left by playoff time..... |

I know we here in little old Milwaukee aren't on the national radar, but the Bucks are pretty good team. Not in the class of the Lakers at this point, but we did make the playoffs last year as the #6 seed, and took Atlanta to 7 games before losing the series. And...this was all accomplished without our "should-have-been-an-all-star" center (Bogut) and a rookie point guard (Jennings) leading the team.
This year, the Bucks may not have an elite player, but we're deep and we play defense (#1 defensive team going into last night's game). We matched the Lakers pretty much point-for-point last night until the very end of the 3rd quarter when the Lakers went on a little run. We added a lot of new guys this year (Gooden, Maggette, etc.) who are starting to gel with the rest of the team. Bogut is back from his injury (thought not 100% yet). Jennings is no longer a rookie and may have finally found his shot. The thing that stuck out to me the most last night was the foul/free throw discrepancy. At one point, the Lakers had shot 22 free throws to 6 for the Bucks. The Lakers went the whole first quarter without a single foul. Really? Seems kind of uneven to me... |

Fisher is not going to be getting better on Defense. He's terrible on that end. He's a smart veteran player, but he's not a good defender. Kobe despite what everyone says, is not 100 percent on that knee yet. He's going to take a while, so he's not going to be all that great on the defensive end. Its just not possible. Bynum will be back soon and is practicing and going on road trips. They will get better when its time for it, right now its just surviving til folks get healthy. |
