All Royals All The Time!

After consultation with others who peruse the game threads we decided to create this as a repository for all things Royals. Minor league news, AL (ahem) Central (thanks Vonne) news and anything Royals can be found here.

alnorth, me and atleast 5 others will continue the game threads as usual. But if you locate something of interest.. ANYTHING.. deals on apparel, best ways in/out of the stadium, giveaways, great stories from this season or from seasons gone by, rumors, trades, anything.... feel free to post it here.

If a big story breaks, you can still start a thread about it. There is merely an all inclusive thread that will make a easy for us all to keep up with all things Royals.

We might be good on 2B too. Johnny Giavotella had a mini-breakout season last year and looks to be a possible high-average second baseman someday.

Our minor league system has a hole at center field and catcher.

Al, since you are the Royals expert around these parts...do forsee Moore being able to trade Greinke for a Catcher, Centerfielder & another Pitcher?

What teams do you think possess what Moore is looking for & what prospects out of those organizations would be acceptable to Moore for Greinke? Do you think that Moore will have to offer more than just Greinke to make a trade...ie Gordon, Butler, etc?

I'm not Al but I think the idea of Greinke for 3 players is just shooting to high.

Go for a can't miss position player (Montero) and a pitching prospect.

But aim super high for the position guy.

Greinke is out of here anyway when he comes up for FA

I'm not really the one to ask about potential trades. I do like to go over the players involved in announced trades to come up with a snap opinion, but I usually think that dreaming up trades is generally a waste of time.

I do not think Greinke is going anywhere this winter unless we are blown away by an offer, simply because its not outside the realm of possibility that we could re-sign him. Teams who have been calling about Greinke have been telling the media that we are asking for a lot more than they are willing to give.

Greinke is a 27 year old Cy Young arm still under contract for relatively cheap. He's easily worth more than just 2 players.

That depends on how well they do in 2011 and 2012. Greinke has already made it clear that he's not interested in maxing out his value, he wants two things: to play in a small or medium-sized market, and to win. If he believed the Royals were going to win he'd absolutely re-sign, and the Royals would have no problem with affording his contract.
