Chiefs go 2-2 the rest of the way do they make the playoffs?

Chargers run the the table and go 10-6. We go 10-6 and beat Oakland I think we take the division. If we lose to Oakland and we go 10-6 then San Diego takes the division if they go 10-6. Right? I think 10-6 is what is likely going to be the 2010 Chiefs record and beating Oakland @ home is going to decide our season.

Same with SD and StL...

How do we lose the division if the chargers/Raiders finish 9-7? What am I missing....I mean all it would take for the Chargers to go 9-7 is them to lose one game...

edit: ok i see you say if SD wins out...(at the end)

My brain blew up at that thought....I guess we just have to pray that SD loses one game....that would sure help. I have a gut feeling its gonna come down to the 2nd of Jan tho....Unless we can pull it off on Sunday.
I only put the "wins out" in there in case people forgot that the OP was stating that SD runs the table.

I found it extremely interesting that the Chargers could lose to us and still make the playoffs so I ran the Yahoo playoff predictor for all teams. SD won't get in if they lose to us.

Yes, if they go 4-0 and we go 2-2 we lose all tiebreakers to them.

Get this, if Oakland also runs the table they win the division over both SD and KC in the 10-6 scenario.

Losing to SD & Oakland puts us out because then SD owuld have a better divisional record...I see that

If we lose to SD & TEN or SD & STL and we both end up 10-6 then our divisional record is tied, so it comes down to 'common opponent' which I assume to mean AFC south and NFC W, so that means we would have a worse win % against common opponents ?

If so

Edit: you answered this nicely, thanks

Now, I hope we can find 3 wins in the last 4 to put all the SD talk to rest. But yes, if we lose to SD then Oakland could loom large only if SD does win out.

Notice that I don't think Oakland has a chance in hell of running the table.

That would be bonerific......I couldnt even begin to describe the joy....It seems like it has been so long since we have had any meaningful games.....To think of several in a row...wow!

I'm really bummed about the appendix, but even if we lose to SD, I (like you) am hoping beyond hope we can get 3 in a row and close it out...

Shit, I mean , I have several Charger Fan friends, I would love to see us beat them, even ugly on SUnday...(I live in CA) and lessen the stress..LOL

This post is just for Buck. If the Chargers actually win out and we still finish 11-5 the chargers only hope for the playoffs is if Baltimore loses 2 more games.

10-6 doesn't get a wildcard this year. The AFCE and AFCN will probably have two teams at 11-5 or better.

Yes.

KC is 2 games up on Oakland.

I think we do go 2-2.

I think Oakland goes 2-2.

But I think we win this week, and if we do, Oakland is ****ed...

Were not 7 point underdogs. It's 9.5 now because of the QB situation.
