2010 Kansas City Royals Repository thread

All Royals All The Time!

After consultation with others who peruse the game threads we decided to create this as a repository for all things Royals. Minor league news, AL (ahem) Central (thanks Vonne) news and anything Royals can be found here.

alnorth, me and atleast 5 others will continue the game threads as usual. But if you locate something of interest.. ANYTHING.. deals on apparel, best ways in/out of the stadium, giveaways, great stories from this season or from seasons gone by, rumors, trades, anything.... feel free to post it here.

If a big story breaks, you can still start a thread about it. There is merely an all inclusive thread that will make a easy for us all to keep up with all things Royals.

Welcome! "Grab a Brew... don't cost nuthin"...[spills beer on feet]

If you'd been reading my posts, you'd know that I too have been saying 2009 is an apparent outlier. You can't expect teams to pay for that kind of production (9 WAR), and I don't think they will (well...maybe the Yankees will if they are desperate enough).

They've been in on Martin for weeks now. I don't think that really says anything either way about their willingness to trade Montero.

Could somebody that knows most of the prices of Royals single game tickets help me out? I have access to a $44 ticket plan that would get me 4 single game tickets up to the $27 range and then 4 B1G1 up to the $34 range. I know it is a good deal if you like the better seats. But is it a good deal if you are just going to spend your time walking around the outfield area?

The royals site doesn't have an single game prices up anymore so I would love to know what some of last years prices were.

If I buy this I am looking at taking my son to 6 games with it which is way more than I would have considered.

I've purchased that ticket plan before. It is a pretty good deal, but you need to know there are some restrictions on some of the tickets (Valid only Mon-Thurs etc).

Ahh, that could be a deal killer for me then. Can they be used with more than one person? In other words, if I bring my son, we get to use two of the four tickets right?

Can the Royals ticket office answer all these questions for me? Or is this a deal outside the organization?

In the past 2 of the free tickets could be used for anygame and 2 were restricted. The bye on get ones had 2 for any game and 2 were restricted.

For $51 you can get 4 $27 tickets once on a Saturday and then once during the week $27 will get you 4 tickets to a Tuesday game.

It is worth it even if you just use the two freebies once on the weekend. To take true advantage you would need to go during the week once.

What I am trying to figure is is whether it is worth it to me because I could care less about seat location as I will just be roaming the outfield areas anyway. I'd be happy with the cheapest seats in the house. Which would be fine for the B1G1 tickets. I just need to figure out if I want to go to up to 6 games next year or not and whether I want to deal with a weeknight game which would all but require me to take a vacation day from my job.

But, I can use these tickets for more than just myself though right? I can bring another person with me but not 3 other people?

No offense, but you aren't to be counted as a part of "anyone." None of us here are.

Market value isn't static. Whether he's a 9 WAR or 5 WAR player, he's clearly the best pitcher available. He's ace quality, relatively young and signed for another 2 years with a reasonable contract. Supply and demand dictates that he's extremely valuable at this point. We'll find out soon enough what the market will bear, but my guess is that it's going to be a haul.

This past season, Stark said that Soria, were he to be traded, would bring the mother lode. Thinking that Greinke would be different is foolish.

You don't count when we say "anyone," man. Sorry. No offense intended.

I still have a lot of writing connections, including a national sports writer who I recommended for his job. I received a text from him re: heymans tweet this am. He also has not heard anyone saying that.

And also ... you're a rival fan who was underrating Greinke's value BEFORE Lee signed in Philly, which only will increase Greinke's trade value.

The Royals will get a motherlode when they trade Greinke. I'd actually rather it be somewhere other than Toronto.

There are better fits elsewhere n

You could in 2009, you might double check on the new ones.

I thought the holdup was the Lee signing...do you guys really think Greinke will be traded by the end of the month?

The point is that I was accused of being a homer for giving you the objective perspective of the rest of the league on Greinke. If somebody is going to value him as a 9 WAR pitcher, it will be an overpay and a mistake.
