2010 Kansas City Royals Repository thread

All Royals All The Time!

After consultation with others who peruse the game threads we decided to create this as a repository for all things Royals. Minor league news, AL (ahem) Central (thanks Vonne) news and anything Royals can be found here.

alnorth, me and atleast 5 others will continue the game threads as usual. But if you locate something of interest.. ANYTHING.. deals on apparel, best ways in/out of the stadium, giveaways, great stories from this season or from seasons gone by, rumors, trades, anything.... feel free to post it here.

If a big story breaks, you can still start a thread about it. There is merely an all inclusive thread that will make a easy for us all to keep up with all things Royals.

Welcome! "Grab a Brew... don't cost nuthin"...[spills beer on feet]

I don't think anybody will value him as a 9 WAR pitcher, but they will value him as a 6.5 WAR pitcher, which is his average the past three seasons.

That ranks him 4th in baseball among pitchers. I don't think it would be a mistake for a team that is in their window of competition to trade the future for two years of an ace-level pitcher. Greinke is the type of starter that can put a team over the top.

the point is that your opinion and the opinion of one other person might not be indicative of the rest of the league's opinion.

A trade is unlikely today, Dayton Moore is literally sick with the flu. He was apparently in bed all day yesterday.

Too much. Greinke has like over an 8 era in Yankee Stadium.

He really isn't attractive to the Yankees.

That's not misleading at all.

In the past three years he's pitched 11 2/3 innings in Yankee Stadium.

6 2/3 and 0 ERs
5 and 4 ERs.

One great start. One meh.

I'm not saying he couldn't be a success there.

But with his history the Yankees are simply not going to part with that much.

If they do it would be a huge win for DM.

His stats in Yankee stadium are beyond useless. It doesn't even rise to the level of "well the stats say this, but we could be wrong", its so thin that its laughable to even attempt to use it as an argument. Sort of like benching Cassel for Croyle if he would have had a bad 1st quarter in the 1st game. "15 minutes in one game, 0/4 passing 1 INT and you are ready to change QB's, what?" Its that level of silly.

The Yankees are not highly enthusiastic about Greinke because of his social anxiety and clinical depression and how that might play out in a full season in New York City. No one cares about 11+ innings.

Like firing Turner Gill after the NDSU game?

Well, thats not really a good example for me. Going to that old stupid tired gimmick of "We're a team, so no names on your uniforms!" should be an immediate firable offense. I don't care that the Yankees do it, its stupid. The man you are looking at is not going to sign his check at the bank "#87".

I'm not serious and yeah thats silly, but thats a gigantic pet peeve of mine. This probably accounts for at least 5% of the sum total of my Yankee-hatred, and it was infuriating to see my favorite college team go down that same stupid cliche'd road for football.

lol.

To sum it up.

Many teams would like another solid starting pitcher to add to their rotations.

Dayton Moore is asking a boatload for Greinke which he's not going to get from the big teams. Unfortunately he has only won like 1 game or something in his career in AL East parks.

The good thing is that the Royals aren't in a position where they HAVE to trade him. He can still be a productive player while we sign guys like Jeff Franceour and Melky Cabrera..

Have you checked out the Cardinals thread? It's far more entertaining.
