Three reasons the Chiefs choke and miss the playoffs.

At least two of these guys are going to run all over the Chiefs.

I'm so glad someone came around to "keep it real." Such a noble effort. Because when you have a team who has overachieved and is in contention for a home playoff game, the best thing to do is to not get excited.

There's nothing better than being a fan of a team and having low expectations. It makes seasons like this so much more fun.

We've improved from allowing 4.7 YPC to 4.3 YPC.

Slight improvement.

What do you expect when seven of the Chiefs 13 games have come against teams in the bottom half of the league in rushing offense?

We have shut down exactly ONE good rushing offense this year, and that came in a game with a tractor-riding hayseed playing quarterback for the opposition.

If you take a look at the 2009 schedule, we didn't really have the luxury of facing a bunch of dogshit running teams.
You should use that in an article GC. These delusional homers need to be told the truth. Last night I was at the gym and a guy comes up to me and says, "The chiefs can probably do some damage in the playoffs if Cassell comes back healthy." LOL

So, you go to the gym to meet guys and talk football?

Holy shit batman.

The Chiefs are a team being rebuilt. I know that little tidbit of informaiton has gotten around you. I'm hoping you get a dose of reality (or anything else) on Christmas morning.

The truth is that KC is still in first place. They have three games against teams with worse records. If they win the division, they deserve it. End of story.

LOL. I don't understand you guys. You know the team isn't that good. You know they're gonna get their ass kicked if they even make the playoffs. You know they only have a decent record because they've had one of the easiest schedules in NFL history. But someone points out anything negative and you act like someone stole your box of tampons.

Do you stay up on christmas eve waiting for santa to come down the chimney too?

There's a fine line between being a delusional homer, and a realistic fan who is over-the-top excited at the chance of a home playoff game.

Then there are people like you who can't seem to find anything positive in a season like this. Almost as if there is no point in getting excited because, you know, they suck and stuff.

I'm convinced that there's a good percentage of the people on this board who claim to be Chiefs fans, but if you look at their posting history, they have never had anything positive to say about the team, the coaches, the players, the waterboy, the parking, etc.

Sure, we all grouse about stuff from time to time, and there have definitely been events and people who needed to be groused about. Still, to be 100% negative with every post is odd.

Either they're really NOT Chiefs fans and love to twit the rest of the fans on the board or else they're just miserable people who revel in being negative.

Either way, it's generally not worth the effort to argue with them.

Do you want to know about reality? I doubt you do, the facts are the W/L record is less of a fluke than you think.

Don't let a good hate of the Chiefs go to waste, keep hating them. I expect you to exile yourself from KC should they get to the Playoffs.

You're right. I really don't know why they play the game. Final standings should be based solely on expectations. Sure, Kansas City's schedule hasn't exactly been a grind, but you can also say that about the Chargers.... and the Chiefs are still ahead of the them in the standings with three games remaining. I don't know if the Chiefs will still be leading the division after January 2nd, but I can say that this team is one hell of a lot better and much more entertaining than they were a year ago. I guess the Chiefs have been so miserably bad for so long, that some fans can't grasp the idea that they are truly getting better.
Are the Chiefs where I want them to be? No, not even close. I can say.... without any reservations, that they are definitely headed in the right direction.

Our schedule is almost the exact same scheule San Diego has. Both of us played four 1st place teams from last year, four 2nd place teams, four 3rd place teams, and four 4th place teams. Here are the schedules...

Chargers:

1st Place teams
New England
@Indianapolis
Arizona
@Cincinnati

2nd Place teams
@Houston
Denver
@Denver
San Fran

3rd Place teams
@Seattle
Oakland
@Oakland
Tennessee

4th Place teams
@St. Louis
KC
@KC
Jax

Chiefs:

1st Place teams
San Diego
@ Indianapolis
Arizona
@San Diego

2nd Place teams
@Houston
Denver
@Denver
San Fran

3rd Place teams
@Seattle
Oakland
@Oakland
Tennessee

4th Place teams
@St. Louis
Buffalo
@Cleveland
Jax

Pretty much the same setup applys for Oakland and Denver. Yet we are the team leading the AFC West. We don't need to apologize to anyone.

The Chargers blew the Colts out, blew the Chiefs out, blew the Jags out (with their real QB, not a hayseed) and competed down to the wire with the Patriots.

They're undeniably a better team than the Chiefs.

A better team that's not going to the playoffs like us.

So if we finish 11-5, and the Chargers finish 10-6, we probably should call the commissioner and ask him if we could send the Chargers to represent the AFC West because they are clearly the better team?

I think if goatcheese had his way that would happen. For whatever reason the resurgence of the Chiefs has caught him off guard and he has to feed his hate somehow.

I bet if the Chiefs would by some chance make it to the SB he will be rooting for the other team just so he can say "I told you they are frauds".
