I hate the way Weis is completely overlooked in all the offensive improvements. With very few significant changes in offensive personnel, Weis came in and took the #25 overall ranked offense and raised it to the #9 overall ranked offense. Both Bowe and Cassel are playing at a completely different level than they were just a year ago. But all that's said about Weis is criticizing his playcalling. Criticizing playcalling is is a rather pointless affair anyway.

They added Thomas Jones (827 yards rushing, ranks 27th in the NFL with having Charles ranked 3rd with 1380), Moeaki (539 yards receiving, ranks 13th), and Arenas/McCluster on returns doing a good job to put the offense in position. Yes, Bowe has improved and so has Cassel, and Charles is more of a passing game weapon; if those three things can be attributed to Weis, kudos, but I wonder how much of it is simply having a year under their belts with Haley and each other.

I remember Shefter quickly debunked that Shanny to kc founding...my friend that works at a colorado sports station sent me an mp3 maybe 20 min after seeing that on espn saying no way it happens after he talked to shefter

I think Weis stays, and McDaniels is our QB coach who will resume as OC when Weis retires. Unless Mc is for some reason offered another HC job or is content sitting on his as getting paid by the Donkeys for now.

Nice idea, but I can't see McDaniels stepping all the way back to QB coach after being a head coach. OC, maybe, but not QB coach.

i just don't see it ... McDaniels is a pass happy mofo and Haley is not.

It's been quite a surprise to me about how Martyball-ish Haley's attitude about offense has been. I expected the exact opposite from him. That's said maybe Haley is just trying to set the tone or doesn't think the players he has right now can handle passing the ball much.

but i think the reason Cassel got benched for 2 plays was because he was checking off to passes against 8/9 man fronts and Haley just wanted to run the ball no matter what. I don't think Haley will be happy with how aggressive McDaniels will want to be.

whole things sounds like bullshit to me but ...
